Hi LiboCop, I have recently installed the renko post #4281. Would you be happy to share the renko setting you are using on the below chart? I am trying to work out a renko size and renko type (normanl/mean/shifted). Thank you. {quote}

GM, you're welcome.
Normal Renko without wicks.
On Dax I have Renko 3 pts, it means on my broker 300 (you can it see on top right on my chart) ....depends on digits, you have to try, on my other broker is for 3 pts setting 30 etc.
On SPX500 a have 1 pts and, it means 100. I set it similarly according RP, he has Renko 4 ticks, and because on MT4 we don't count ticks you have to know, how many ticks is one point, now it looks RP has 4 ticks = 1pt......depends on Broker and type of future contract.

Today's DAX to now attached.
Hope it helps.

Edit: added next trade
Edit2: the last one for now above BRN

SU

PS: All my trades are executed using pending orders. This will help you a lot. Try it

Happy anniversary Rocky! I have been a watcher and user of your method for quite awhile, and I want to thank you for you contribution to my trading turnaround. I just needed to keep it simple and straight forward. I used to jump around with different techniques, but in one of your eariler posts, it stuck when you said that this is one of the bigger flaws with struggling traders, is that they don't stick with one proven edge.. Thanks again all my best

A labor of love this has been for me. I've been quiet here but still working to make a version of the rocky method that really makes me comfortable, and I am very close to it. The indi below is the Williams%R (I use fast stochastic which is the same indi but it doesn't use the %R's inverted scale).

Essentially combine elements of both of rocky's templates.

Days like this used to chew me up and spit me out. The basic rocky method and working on my discipline is keeping me on the right side, even when a trade is a loss.

Three trades for a total of 29 ticks. I stop after 2 losses in a row or 3 trades total. Today was 3 small wins.

Tomorrow is another day.

Choppy day like this are where you earn your money, you may not hit your targets, but staying profitable and hitting 25=50% of daily target is gold.
Busy morning 5 trades in an hour 1 B/E, 2 Small losses and 2 solid wins. For now will watch awhile and let it churn hoping for a consolidation and breakout.

No consolidations showing up so just waited adx to get close to 25 for a bounce worked out for 1 more decent win. Think that's it for me today. Time to run errands and go food shopping.

Jeez, rock. You mean we got put work into this if we want to succeed?

But that's hard.

This is the first time I have seen this rocky, but your data and my data are very different even though we are both using Ninjatrader and the same settings.

Here is your chart (the three lines I drew in black correspond to yesterday's high, yesterday's close, and today's open, from top to bottom - I added them for reference to my chart).

And here is my chart: Both 4 Renko MES and yet mine doesn't show that little bear flag thata you have that gave you a second entry. I have only two entries.

Actually, it does look like you might be running a different data source. Are you using CQG or Rythmic?

I've been watching the NQ/MNQ side by side with the ES/MES.

Many times they have similar signals, but much better follow through with the Q's than the S&P's. ES/MES does so much back and forth even on the better trades. NQ/MNS back fills too, but usually moves more before it does.

I might switch to MNQ next week to see how it goes.

Weird how the two data feeds apparently aggregate the Renko differently.

Good trading day, little bit of a late start. My computer decided to replace my old snipping tool with the new "Snip and Stretch" which is reaaaally baaad. Took my low tech mind awhile to get the old app back.

Generally I like to catch ADX crossing 25 or bouncing off 25 for entries. Yes I enter on market orders.
