DislikedNice thread and simple trading. I understand your definition of engulfing. But a quick question the engulfing does need to be confirmed? For example for a long engulfing does the top need to be broken, a close above the high or any other kind of confirmation? Thanks Kind regardsIgnored
Disliked{quote} the bullish engulf top needs to be broken, whether by candle wick or close is acceptable. a candle close is better. engulf also does not mean only for 2 candles side by side to each other as the chart shows. {image}Ignored
Disliked{quote} Ok perfect so it can be that it engulf multiple candles. Any other thing like for instance that if the body does not completely engulf but the wicks do is also valid? For instance for engulf long the open may be a little higher than the previos close but the wick low is lowerIgnored
Dislikedtoday a few traders had been inquiring what constitute engulfing. it does not have a straight forward answer. i have been thinking what would be the simple, quick and obvious one to the eyes. for the purpose of this thread i have decided that a candle close over the wick would be more obvious to see on the chart and also easiest to explain any comments before i include this image in post 1? {image}Ignored
Disliked{quote} With regard to multiple candles engulfing a candle .. how many candles are too many to complete the engulf ?Ignored
Dislikedalthough our intention is to sell. here you see the purpose of waiting for engulf fail. the recent bullish engulf shows that price still want to go up. this prevent us from selling thus avoiding floating loss. now price left the m30 bearish engulf and entered into a higher level m30 bearish engulf. the exercise is then repeated all over again in this new zone. {image}Ignored
DislikedThis is an old trading concept. The pattern is called engulfing whipsaw. I think it was Redsword who introduced it first. https://www.forexfactory.com/thread/...-is-everythingIgnored
