Apologies in advance for the rambling, but you remind me of something tiny, but that I wish I had realized earlier, so here it goes.

For me, comparisons are more than over-rated, as unintelligent as I may sound saying that and the following:

In my own limited experience, trading success doesn't need much intelligence. I've too many times met incredibly smart, educated people not making it.
And also...
Each one learns something to exploit repeatedly over time, and what matters is to follow through with one's best ability and knowledge at that precise moment.

To be wrong, less intelligent, less better, less stronger, less quicker, etc. won't give me worst results. I know, even "to be wrong". So "wrong/right", intelligent/dumb etc. have been out of my trading vocabulary for years.

The only thing that counts is to be good with what I have in this very moment.
Just good. Good = following my rules ! Good and accepting of the results I can get with what plan I have come to develop up to now...

Wrong or right, like intelligent or not, doesn't matter to my trading.

There was a time when my results were so much worse than today. Actually there were a series of periods through which I went, each with slightly different average results. And every time I couldn't accept those results, that at that very moment, this is how good I am at trading, well , that's when I started to trade badly, losing focus of what I had learned, skipping over rules, changing some without the proper research, etc. !

Doesn't take much intelligence to respect oneself, and just stick with what you know, accept what you can do, in the moment, and take the baby steps, in time, to grow. Whether it's making 1$ with every 5$ risked or 5 with 1, and everything between and around, it doesnt matter to me. I focus on what I have found out, what I do know and what I can do with it right now, respecting my limits, not comparing, no distraction...
