The EA is very inactive the past week, perhaps the extreme moves without real pullbacks is the cause? It gives a bit the feeling of missing out, but then again patience is the name of the game and ignoring EA would probably lead to worse startingh prices to step in?

You are right, there have been very few decent setups. It seems many pairs are turning, or at least undergoing a pullback. And those that are continuing on their power moves up or down are so extended or close to a key level that they are not suitable for trading any way, even if they meet the 3x3 criteria.

Good work mate. I think there's nothing wrong sticking to basics and MA crossovers are one of the most fundamental indicator based signals out there. I have been just recently doing some reading on trading indexes for the long term based on golden crosses and death crosses. And they are not so far-fetched, in fact, quite profitable.
So why not apply it on some of other financial securities? One caveat would be the misleading volatility and not so reliable signals if you try to apply it down to very short time frames like minutes and whatnot. But most of the time, it could work out in your favor with the daily and hourly timeframes.
Arguably, some of the allegedly premium and winning indicators that are sold on some charting websites are also mainly based on moving average cross-overs in the background.

I like eurusd-thijs's use of the One-glance Trader trend dashboard. It makes selecting suitable trades easy.

But on GBPUSD, the daily shows price to be stretched away from the EMAs, so I agree with josi that a bit of caution is required. Use a stop order and trail it down the retracement but not too close to price.

OK, take a deep breath everyone. Here's something to liven up your Monday!

We use EMAs to help us define trend. Another standard method is to use higher highs and higher lows to define an uptrend, and vice versa. But we also like keeping things clean, and it doesn't get much cleaner than using a line graph!! Pure price action at its cleanest. The only time I would switch over to candles would be to see the close of the breakout candle in order to place a trade there. Do you think you could get your brain around using just line graphs?

I do too, I'm sure most of us do, but it's an interesting idea to go pure naked and see if we can overcome our dependence on those props. I do sometimes wonder, once we have got our minds around it, whether it might not be a better way of trading! I have set my VPS charts up like that and will see if I can do something with just the line graph. It's an interesting challenge.

Here's another "All three EMAs aligned" trade. The break below the signal was too strong to catch so I waited for the usual pullback and entered on the breakout candle. There is local support to get through still, but beyond that is a decent amount of space to move down into.

fixed 2 small not important bugs.
1. did forget it did a trade already today when only allowed 1 trade a day
2. when manual mode the displayed lotsize was not correct when using risk
