Spot is different you don't conduct exchange of currencies in CFD trading, the only cash flow is difference between entry and exit price that's why it is called contract for difference.

For most traders in the world there are many opportunities to choose the best broker, unfortunately, some countries are very limited in this.
The most favorable conditions are provided by offshore brokers.

I prefer an ECN broker that provides low spreads and a diverse range of account types to choose from. Currently, my top three choices are IC Markets, PrimeCodex, and CMC Markets.

I am using Interactive Brokers since it is the best Swiss multitasking knife I found around. But out of curiosity, people using dedicated brokers - be it ECN or FX - hold accounts elsewhere or are they specialising in one type of trading only? BTW for IBIE customers, FX trading is out - thanks to Mifid2 -, futures may be an imperfect alternative.

I have 4 brokers at this moment, so I thought it could be interesting to compare. I put them on one screen and took a picture showing the split at all 4 brokers in the same instance. The interesting part is the split value at the upper right corner. I allways have that value displayed from my robots. The accounts are with no commission. (I think)

The upper left corner is the My Forex Fund evaluation account that I am running right now. Got 1% profit a day in 3 days. 5 days to go. I am very pleased with that propfirm.

Lower left is TD365. Just 150$ in a real money account to try them. Split is fine. But the split on Gold is awfull. So I will use this broker for FX only.

Upper right is FXPro. I have had my money accounts with them for a long time. But their split is awfull. They have the most userfriendly system I have seen, but costs are too high. I used to be a swing trader. Now I am a scalper, and Split is vital for the profit.

Lower right is a newly opened demo at Vantage International. Split is too high. But their split on Gold seems normal and I might use them for my Gold trading.

All screens are showing different content, but the split is made the same way and the comparement should be OK.

You get little protection with offshore brokers due to lack of regulatory oversight. This is not obvious risk so often underestimated. I would strongly advice to trade only in venues which are subject to regulation from FCA or ASIC.

I previously traded FOREX prior to Dodd and Frank but found my scalping and shorter term trade profits were greatly reduced (plus risk of loss, multiplied) by the new regulation of not allowing hedging. As well, I did not necessarily want to close a trade just because the NY market closed for the day. As such, I closed out my account and stopped trading.

I'm interested in restarting FOREX trading and have been trying to figure out if there have been any amendments to that legislation allowing for US based brokers to allow hedging (trading past the NY close isn't a major factor but sometimes there is good activity at that time) but heretofore have not been able to make that determination doing Google and FOREX forum searches. I've noticed people talk about hedging, but I don't know if they are trading US or offshore accounts.

Are any of you trading US brokers that allow you to hedge? Must you close your positions at the close of NY? Also, are brokers still allowed to make instantaneously opposite trades to the one(s) you just made?

While at the start of this thread (a few years ago), there seemed to be many broker reviews, I don't see much current discussion on US broker satisfaction/dissatisfaction. Could I please get some input on whom you use so I can perhaps make an educated decision after being out of the market all these years?

I would very much appreciate any input and help!! Thank you so much!!

I'm currently with Admirals. A bit expansive when compared to industry leaders both in commissions and in spreads, but still haven't had a complaint with functionality. Everything works fine so far.

Yeah you can trust them I think their platform looks modern and they are regulated. However spreads on some instruments are a bit high not good for scalping. I would advice to consider Hotforex or Tickmill if you want cheaper alternatives.

I have been trading with AAAFx from the past 3 years, since I had switched over to them from Exness, and I have been quite happy. The main reason I started with them was because of ZuluTrade.

Earlier they used to charge a withdrawal fee but not anymore. My spreads and commission charges were automatically reduced, when they updated the website last year. So overall I am very happy with them.

I've done hundreds of hours research on this over the years. I say Finprotrading and GlobalPrime Australia.. Check them out.. This is a great resource to look at the volume of each broker during prime market hours http://www.myfxbook.com/forex-broker-volume

I think Moga would be your choice. There are very account types you can apply depends on which is more accessible to you.

What broker are you currently using or relying on now, based on the comparison you've provided for the different brokers?

I’ve never had any problems with ICMarkets regarding withdrawals, deposits, and the support chat has always been 10/10. But what happened today was breathtaking. Only on ICMarkets did this gigantic candle occur, taking me out of the operation. Could any expert in the area inform me what this is about? I don’t know much about brokers and how their server chart works. Thank you very much in advance!

Pair: EURUSD

That spike is the rollover period. Derivatives are over-the-counter products, which means are not trade in any exchange, therefore every broker will have their own liquidity providers. You should compare the candle data across different brokers and get the average price, I was in that trade, you will see various brokers with worse price than the one in your screenshot. Specifically for EURUSD IC Markets has consistently the best spreads.
