I also thought that the drop should be caused by red news, but (besides filling CPI's gap on USDX) it was caused by PA - failed attempt to exceed 1.10 + retest of trendlines (rising one + upper band of downward channel)

My Techincal Perspective

If price drops Below 1.09150
We may see the sharp move towards 0.08500-600 area to fill the buy orders.

If the price stays above the said price, We would be looking at another range day perhpas even tommorow. However i am hoping that the price would break below as antcipated hence i am selling the pair.

We could have scenario similar to yesterday's CPI. It all depends on PPI's data. If we get lower inflation, it SHOULD create less pressure for further tightening of monetary policy = weaker dollar.
- Core PPI: predictions: 0.2% m/m, 3.3% y/y (prev: -0.1% m/m, 3.4% y/y)
- PPI: predictions: 0.3% m/m, 2.5% y/y (prev: -0.5% m/m, 2.7% y/y)

I still see 32% longs / 68% shorts ratio at my broker...

Weaker data for dollar, pullback for now. What about recession fears? Buy dollar as a safe haven?

Initially I was thinking that dollar rally should start after they would deal with budget/default, but now I am wondering if market hasn't already started discounting positive solution for USD and this should lead to a stronger dollar

It looks like after initial pullback EUR is ready to go lower

EUR/USD (4H) broke through the local support after a reversal near the 1.10 resistance area. Now we see a downtrend: lower highs, lower lows. Soon we may see a downward movement towards the 1.08 area
