hey twinchell, I will try and explain this. I have taken a course in forex and have been trying to educate myself by constantly reading etc.. For me, stupidity would be placing trades without any kind of analysis. When I place trades, I try and do some analysis, but it ends up to be wrong most of the time. For example, I trade on what I think is a downtrend when in actuality, it is a retracement in a larger uptrend. This has been giving me some trouble and I am trying to formulate a strategy to try and avoid getting stopped out for huge losses.
Dial, I fully understand what you mean. People just rushing into this forex thing without fully educating and empowering themselves on the pitfalls. The way how people teach the forex can be very attractive. Thats what pulls new ppl in the markets. In reality, thats now how it goes. I am glad that after I finished my forex course, that I went out there to see what else existed, a second or third opinion if you will. I don't like people telling me I should buy here or sell there without explaining why (not to say that the course was doing that). I took time off after the course to immerse myself in something else other than the course's point of view and try and study on my own how the forex works (really glad I found forex factory can I tell you ).
Jumping into the deep end of forex has really opened my eyes. I didn't think it would be a bed of roses but boy is it difficult. It is very difficult coping with losing all the time as well. I dont mind the losing, but consistent losing at times really gets the better of me. I persevere because one day I know that I will get it. People who refure to learn the basics as you say and continually lose their money indeed lose it to stupidity.
