No one knows how the market will react to any given news announcement, but at times it's fairly easy to guess what may happen. Say, for instance, the unemployment rate doubles... probably easy to figure how the market will react.
Now... no one knows what the news may bring... but then... that isn't exactly true is it? Last week NFP data came out and 5 seconds later a complete article was written about it. Someone had to know the data before the official announcement to write this article, no?
The questions are this... Is the data available to a certain few people early and who are these people that are able to write these articles/news releases?
