I stopped listening to classic rock years ago...its crossed over into the "oldies" category LOL When i hear another led zepplin song on the car radio i change the station otherwise id probably blow my brains out having to hear those plagiarizing jerkoffs for the millionth time

I better not start on my "there's nothing new under the sun' stuff but plagarising & music have gone hand in hand over the ages (ie nothing new in essence)

Led Zepp were renowned for it, yes, and came up highest on this list, but they wre also joined by such luminaries as,
James Brown, Beach Boys, Beatles, The Doors, George Harrison, Elton John, Johnny Cash, ZZ Top, Madonna, Paul Simon, Mick Jagger etc

I agree completely with you that we can become detuned to a song (songs) once we have heard it over & over,
which is why imho this is a great thread for all the variety it presents.

I mean your Ting Ting song above also sounds a little like a Janelle Monae song recently (who came first I do not know lol).

Myself, either I like a song and that is it.

The plagarising is mostly evidenced nowadays in courts as 'royalty payments' not whether we enjoy the song or not it seems.

Back in my day (as an 'oldie' myself lol ) NONE of the artists, bands or songwriters got a penny as the STUDIO laid claim to all the artists musical inventions. (John Fog & Creedence got ZIP from their first 100 songs if I remember, quite brutal)

It wasn't all guns & glory or whatever the legend is in many folks eyes re Jesse, but was a well written and well recorded imo full album with a story from start to finish.
