Williams%R, SAR X-over 15 minute candles

Looks not to be my day out at B/E.

Got a move up which would have covered my loss, but PA to quick 3 fast candles after signal. Think markets trying to tell me something like nope not today amigo.
I am done. So not my day but kept losses a a minimum, so no complaints.

I'd be interested to know exactly how you enter. I haven't managed to enter exactly once yet, it's always been a few pips later

Couldn't help myself, took another trade finally, went my way 25 ticks locked in. Stopped out at +25 now I'm really done. Can't really say I'm happy with my trading today. Let my emotions push into a trade when I said I'm done. It worked but could have just as easily not. BTW the vertical lines with no trade is where PA was too fast for entry.

I'm traveling for a few days so I am not trading. However, my own view of this is I have a very clear rule for when I trade:

I take every trade signal between 8:30 AM and 11:30 AM Eastern time, and I stop when I have reached my closed equity net profit goal for the day, I have reached my max loss for the day, or 11:30 AM, whichever happens first.

As an example, my profit goal for the 6E is +40 ticks, my max loss is -40 ticks. If at any point I am +40 or -40, I am done. Even if there are 2 hours and 55 minutes left until my 11:30 AM trading window closes.

I am a strong proponent for objectively defining edges, trading windows, habits for pre-market prep.

I'm wondering which way you are entering on the chart to see the input. How do you do that to enter accurately at that price. For example, the other entry was very quick and I didn't have a chance to enter there at that price.

I use market entries with brackets. I have a very fast computer with 64GB of Ram and Intel I7-12700H processor and I always trade with the internet hard wired no WIFI. Computers do make a difference and trading with wifi causes some lag. I'm upgrading my desk top soon with the same people who built my laptop. Been very happy with them.

You are probably thinking you are entering late because it is difficult to see where price is actually at relative to the Heikin Ashi.

My entries are very often at the very top tick of the entry candle. Nothing you can do about that unless you want to wait for a signal and then put a limit order in below the market for a long, or above the market for a short and hope you get filled.

I haven't backtested doing that, but based on my own observations and trading, I suspect that for the few ticks you may gain, you will miss out on some of the fastest and biggest winners because those entries DO NOT come back to let people in a better prices.

Over the past six weeks I found that trading the 4-9-18, which became the 9-18, helped me a great deal to define exits, entries, stops, etc for the 9 ema band template. Still a work in progress but to give two quick examples: I do not exit on a doji immeditely unless price has done a little double bottom or double top. For the 6E, I use a 10 pip (20 tick) stop and a 20 pip (40 tick) profit target. However, those numbers might have to be decreased. Over the summer I was hitting 6e and 6B trades for 50 to 100 ticks. Then 50 became the standard. Now 40. If volatility doesn't pick up, I am thinking the profit target may have to be reduced further to 25 to 30 ticks.

Once I get a candle to close either above the high of my entry candle on longs or below the low of my entry candle on shorts, I "attach" my stop loss to the opposite ema, and the Ninjatrader platform trails the stop for me until I reach my profit target or I am stopped out. So on a long, I attach the stop loss to the 9 ema LO, and for a short, I attach the stop loss to the ema HI. The platfomr and the market does its job from there.

If price does a double top, or double bottom, (a "M" or a "W") against me I get out.

I have become very aware of the role trading ranges play in whether or not to take a signal. If price is in a trading range, and I get a short signal while price is only 4 or 5 ticks above the low of the range, I wait for the low of the range to break, with a candle closing below the low of the range before I take the signal. Opposite for long signals at the highs of a range, of course.

I will have to look more closely at these files, chaveznqoos, but at first glance I'd say that my approach would allow for much greater risk (up to 10% of account per trade) when trading a small account, and as the account size grows, position size increases, while slowly bringing risk levels down far below those suggested in these files.

If one really has an edge, which I believe the rocky template has, then the challenge is can you stick to your rules.

I actually transferred all but $1000 from my ninjatrader account a week or so ago, and I am doing a "challenge" type exercise right now. I want to open a second NT trading account to do something similar with the MES/ES. Right now I am trading the 6E in the challenge account, and considering adding 6B, maybe 6C or 6J, and then oil or YM or Gold. If one really has an edge, which I believe the rocky template has, then the challenge is can you stick to your rules.

I want to make sure NT will let me trade two accounts from the platform without having to buy the software again. If so, I have an interesting plan I will be trying with the ES.

chaveznqoos, are you trading the rocky template in some form, either demo ro live?

Vidvad and other Rocky subs, I am trading Live Breakout technique on YM futures 1 Hour TF but PA is so rangy last few months that I am trading smaller time frame and Rocky technique bodes well for it.

Question: Has anyone successfully converted into Renko with ADX and MACD(of Renko) to MT5? If "Yes", please help to set it up.

If anyone has the same setup on MT4, I can start from here and convert to MT5.

I can also pay someone to help me get there, i e convert from Ninja or MT4 to MT5. If you know how to set it up, PM me with the price to achieve that.

I am using now 5 min bars with ADX and MACD of the 5 min bars - it is not ideal.

Decent start to the week, wasn't going to trade today but rainy windy day. Painfully slow PA to start 1hour for 4 candles to form, picked up a bit asfter that for a nice move up.

Reentered long again.

Picked up 20 more and jumped out.

.. yes, yes, it sounds very simple, but in trading it is very difficult to remake the natural characteristics of a human. It takes a lot of time, patience and practice. It is very well described in his book Trading in the Zone.

I am almost there, how do I created Indicators of Renko and not of the Price Bars? You can see MA, ADX and MACD are of the price bars and not of the Renko.
