My only trade today was Eur/USD 4h long, 7 am (CET). I was really buisy, I have a full time job. Some days it is even hard to watch my charts every 4h. I closed it in profit before the big news. Better not to close, see now, huge move up!

I know that there is big GBP news coming out soon, but I placed this earlier today anyway and will close it before the news. I am now at B/E, but hopefully it gains a few more pips in the next 45 minutes.

Also USDJPY

After discussing those 'open spaces' with josi I was more alert to them being there so I was able to wait until the green bar pullback had closed off that space and moved back closer to the EMAs. Then I placed a sell stop order below it, and it has worked nicely, so far.

And as today is NFPs and the end of the week, sitting on our hands is not a bad strategy. Because of those two factors I decided to move my TP up to the local support level and get out early.

As I did last weekend, I am posting a list of currency pairs where the Daily chart (which is the higher time-frame for me) is down or up, not sideways, or bottoming/topping or something else that makes the bias uncertain. To avoid confusion, I am not saying anything about actual trade setups that might appear on H4 (the trading time-frame).

The logic behind this exercise is that the MA crossover method is a trend-following one. It does not perform well in other market conditions, as we have seen over the last two or so weeks. So, if we trade in the direction of the dominant trend, we must surely be increasing our odds of success.

These are the pairs that I think are trending on the daily - I will ignore all the others for the next few days:

GBPAUD down
GBPJPY down
NZDCHF down
NZDJPY down
AUDNZD up
EURGBP up

And that's it. Good trading all.

All of your examples may turn into successful trades.
But it may be an advantage to enter them with eyes wide open...

Edit: This pair is one of those I posted about yesterday where the dailies are in a trend. None of the others have shown a suitable setup yet. My TP is at 100 pips only because the App I use to place trades is set at 100. Correctly, I should inspect the chart and move it to a logical position such as a swing low, or another support level. But for now, 100 pips will do.

This is an EA. You have to download a package of files, which you drop into your MQL4 folder and it does the rest.

It lives on your screen at the top left and looks like this:

Very little available today, if you stick to D1 as the HTF and H4 as the trading TF. Most pairs seem to be in the process of reversing or pulling back, but few to none have settled into a new trend or resumed their original trend. If they have reversed, they aren't "ripe" yet as they are still facing S/R in the form of trend lines or horizontal levels.
