Apparently, the indicator that I uploaded. It's supposed to use a shift of 1. This indicator was only meant to predict 1 bar into the future. Thats what adding the slope to the linear regression does.

Thank you Kevin for sharing your next creation... another good one!!!

And this is how I landed here... I was reading the info on Linear Regression Indicator ... thereafter I started to search the net for MT4 version of it... located a good description at mq4 and have also discovered there the existence of TSF -- Time Series Forecast [they have great technical info under post #1 that may be a goldmine for a programmer]...

My biggest problem is that I do not know the programing language... but I think what you guys are talking about here is what I am looking for...

ch33z3... thanks for sharing and helping the readers with your know-how... please let us know if your indicator is built as per the description in the links above... -tks

This thread has gotten away from the main topic at hand a little, just pm me for anything indicator related. Although I do experiment with new ideas and indicators, I mostly use tried and true methods. But anyways, lets all continue on BB on Steroids.

Hello,

I recently made an EA of BB on steroid for backtest purposes. I made a version the fallows the rules on the first post, but unfortunately I cannot get any decent results from strategy tester. Can someone please review the EA I made test it and all, just to see if its working according to the rules... because right now its not very profitable. Also have there been any changes to the method that have made it more profitable?

If it's something that you feel may complement the system nicely or may be better than what the system is, I would love to hear about it. I'm no thread-Nazi, and value everyone's comments as long as it leads to improvement.

Hey Mikhail,

I can't run EA's so I might not be much help. I suppose my main questions for you would be:

1) Which pairs did you backtest on?
2) What S/L do you use in backtests?

Depending on which pairs you backtest on, you will get either good, mediocre or bad results using the original method. I have found GBP/USD, GBP/JPY, and USD/JPY to be most profitable.

The main addition I might try for improved results would be (5,3,3) weekly stochastics confirmation. Basically if it is crossed in the positive, long, vice versa for short.

Anyway, thanks for posting the EA! I'm sure many will find it helpful, and I look forward to seeing the results it produces.

Only one trade looked good tonight and that was Short USD/CAD.

Short USD/CAD @ 1.1090
S/L = 1.1144

Ch33z3,

I just got home and read Kevin's post. I noticed the USD/CAD had not moved much, so I put your EA on the pair with a micro amount to watch it work. Kevin says he's going short, and that would be my read from the chart, but the EA opened a long position. Don't know what would cause this, and thought you would like to know.

Hi,

Thank you for testing the EA, can you please look at the order comments if it was a blue or a white signal. Because the system is highly dependent on the close of the candle which could be different for different brokers, and we know Kevin doesn't use MT4...

The position says it was a White signal. Which is consistent with the position that it took. My broker is IBFX. The candle closes at midnight GMT with them. The closing candle was 1.1090. The White band was at 1.1150. Hope that helps.

The first thing I notice is that you have defined BBs as an iCustom indicator.... where is the code that defines "bands?"

Maybe you could use the iStdDev function, as BB are really just standard deviations....

So, Mikhail, where did the signals appear on your chart in the backtests? Did they appear where you expected them to? Did they match the entries Kevin's PDF in Post #1?

Hi,

There is a custom indicator default in MT4 named bands, the only difference is that you can input a decimal point in the indicator settings which this method requires...

As for your other questions, yes the signals appeared where they were supposed to, as the method indicates and from my understanding of the method... the thing is kavins results from his manual trade results are much better then the backtest results with MT4, thats why I'm just requesting confirmation if the EA works according to the method...

hi guys. hi kharvell. thank you for sharing this system. it looks nice.
I look to my charts today, and what i'm thinking i should do at tommorow morning with your system:
gbpusd - nothing.
eurusd - nothing.
eurjpy - if price will be closed inside the channel - sell, else nothing.
eurchf, gbpjpy, usdjpy, usdchf - the same like eurjpy.
audusd - the same, but buy instead sell
nzdusd - nothing (but look at morning on this graph)
audjpy - nothing

am i right? if i'm not, where i'm wrong?

Based on FXDD's charts, which updates at 5pm est. i have 2 entries, gbp/jpy and gbp/chf. the gbp/jpy's weekly stochs just barely crossed. the gbp/chf had a cross on the weekly. Both were wells

Good work Mikhail. Maybe you can take screen captures of the chart where the entries and exits took place, and Kevin can verify. There is no need for all these people to get excited over nothing. Peace.

i didn't do the swissy because it wasn't a blue or white signal on FXDD. What made you get in? Maybe i'm misunderstanding the rules.

Hi Pipette. on my graph usdchf price hits white BB and then closed inside the BB channel. I think it's a white signal to sell?
