It is an indicator that blocks out and overlays a range bar chart on top of a time based chart. So you can't apply any indicators as they will be applied to the time based chart hidden underneath. The range bar indicator dose come with some indicators you can apply to the range bar chart (3 moving averages, Donchian Channel, Bollinger Bands and Super Trend). It dose show what time the current range bar opened but as it is applied to a time based chart the x axis can't reveal what time past bars opened.

Hey everyone.

I was also looking for a range bars indicator/EA for mt5. This one from the link does not work well. The author kindly sent me a trial version but it does not work properly. When I add indicators on the offline chart the indicators lines keep flashing constantly and also I had heaps of pin bars (open price=close price) which could never happen on range bars.

So I am guessing there is no way to create range bars for mt5? Alternatively, which plataform have range bars as standard? Other than ninja trader. I could not find on Multicharts. Does anybody know any other?

There is still a lack of alternative charts for mt5, sorry.

Yes, it was AMP.

Well, i'm not so expert in platforms since i just used two, three of them. Surely I can recommend Ninja Trader and Sierra. Just try some of them and choose the one you're more confortable with.

Many years later still using this approach. Thanks @thefxpros.
Current chart - range bars 75 pip. Bbands based on 150 range bars.
Individual entry rules using 2 stochastics in a direction Bbands.
Good works 123-pattern.
M62 chart to analyse S/R.
