I think the last days of December are slow due to the vacations of Christmas and new year vacations.

Fundamental analysis is very important for any new trader. It helps a trader to make his decisions properly and perfectly.

If you want to create a bright future by trading Forex, you have to trade with long time targets. If you earn 10-15% per month, you should be happy with it. If a trader patiently follows money management and risk management, his trading future will be much better. So in trading, you have to survive by giving up emotions with patience.

This week (Feb 01 - 04) has been very slow in forex. Does anyone know why?

I'd like to start a thread about it, but ForexFactory won't let me start a topic.

I have noticed the markets being weird, slow, sluggish, erratic on a lower time frame like 5m...15m. It started in February I think. What could be causing this? I remember nice and clear trends and swings in January and even in December (before the holidays).

It holds less sway in forex, but for stocks the worst months are the summer, hence the phrase:

"Sell in May, and go away."

I think December is the month where volume in the market remains low because of Christmas and new year vacations.

I find that July and August are actually worst in term of low liquidity / spikes / not much action in the markets. Mainly because EU and US are on holidays. December tends to have a few good surprises that can turn into trade opportunity - particularly when historically looking at cryptos.

Ignored

Yeah, often markets change direction, i.e. reverse at the start of a new year, the latest example is S&P 500 downtrend which started in January. However you should pick trending markets if you want to implement that idea.

I often see traders lose their money on the news, and to fix this, I suggest using the economic calendar.

I feel it's not about the bad months for trading but all about how it moves, usually people can see less volume in holiday season due to festive season but as such by keeping the track ourselves we can realize where the market is heading.

I advise beginners not to trade on holidays, it is very easy to lose all your money.

I'm sure around the holidays in the US things change some, but just adapt to what you have to work with. Or take that time off for a break.

Some months will go bad but don’t worry about it. You have to learn how to recover your losses. The stronger your trading tactics are, the higher your profit ratios are.

Not all months will go well for you. You have to learn how to survive in Forex. Many traders even don’t know this. Use portfolio as a weapon to survive in Forex.

It is difficult to say which months are "bad" for forex trading as market conditions and global events can affect currency values at any time. However, historically, some traders may avoid certain months due to traditional low volatility and trading volume, such as the summer months of June, July, and August.
Hello.

besides holidays when new quarter begins ,market tends to whipsaw too much to trap the traders on both side before resuming the trend
