Would like to see a video that precisely constructs an example of a classic set up. Identifying each part of the set up and what is tells us. Plus a variation or two.

That is the one thing he has never done as far as I know. If he would it would clear up a lot.

Afore I go. I had a look at yesterday sp500 which I thought didn't give a lot by the time I finished at 4pm BUT look at what it did later - a nice Stacey Burke type formation break/fake ? and reverse for a nice short.

About half that move was untradable due to the news release.

Taking a short break from my studies. Have been contemplating why some of my signals fail. I have come to the conclusion that it is not that the signal fails, because ALL signals fail, it is that my entry point is wrong. This was brought out reading Al-B. He describes entry signals of the type I take. His entry is different and makes more sense. Since Al is mainly a momentum style trader, a break of both bars that crate the signal is logical. Will need to wait until I get to a section where he discusses some nuances more. One of the issues is when larger climax type bars are part of the signal.

Bob Volman (who I reference the least) - I think of his methodology as "Prica Action for Idiots" referencing the self-teaching manuals. Volman's method seems to be primarily trendline/moving average squeezes and the breakouts from those. Mostly coming out of Inflection Points.

Al Brooks is the true short-term trader. His methodology drills down to the bars themselves. BUT this is all done with much of the tools from the other two. He truly opens up the possibilities of trading the SP500 on the 5-minute using Price Action. ***Sorry, no volume on any of these three's charts.

Even though I am not that far into Al Brools 3 volume Trading Price Action set, with what I knew before (much subconscious) along with what i have learned from the other two ***and the many who interact here and on other threads *** I am making great progress. I have spent this week watching the charts. I had intended to trade but started reading Al-B again and that led to more observation. This time it has been watching mainly the MES during Asia and the US. That is a hell of a lot of 5-minute bars to just sit and watch and think how I would trade, where and when will I short and long. But no actual trades allowed. Learning PA and building discipline all at the same time. Truly getting the itch to unleash myself. Today was the hardest to hold back. I am seeing price so clear. There are 5 point "scalps" in lots of spots. What's better is when you think in your mind how you would manage a trade as opposed to taking 5 quick points. With some basic manipulations it becomes a very basic act. (Sometimes I could kick myself in the ass for waiting so long. I am seeing all this so clearly now. Then I think, perhaps I was not meant to be at this point until now - that I am at this point. (I won't get into the rest of why what I just said is important as it is a forbidden topic and frankly distracts from the learning of all.))

Now that I have taken myself through a crash course in PA trading (I have either an associate or bachelor's degree by now) it's time to start stepping from theory to practical practice. <think I am sitting at about $60 in total losses during the learning phase>
So as over promised, I will start to post my stuff.

USDCAD 50 pips HOW / HOD short after red news. Breakout of previous day's high. 100 pips of rise into HOD and HOS. First hour makes a high and a low. New York opens and keeps volume trapped high in upper 25 pip box. HOD locked in and frontside broken. On the backside after red news 10am peak formation engulfment end of the 15 min cycle above 75. 50 pip fade into higher level longs. No Stress trade. Stick to the process.
