Clear indecision between the weekly trendline at 0.9916 and parity (1.0000). The volatility is drying because of Friday profit taking.

Bull

This week that passed EURUSD closed another one bullish week but it backed off near its end from a dovish ECB that raised 0.75% the Interest Rate to 2.00% but uknowledged the dangers in the Eurozone from an expected slowdown on growth. Also the US surprised with upside numbers on its Q3 GDP - expected 2.4 > real 2.6.

Next week I expect EU to consolidate any gains it did last week and stay down below the high of the range at 1.0094 but with a risk for that last to break in case positive news hit the wires for EU or bad news hit the Dollar. Also there is a chance we see EU going down to S1 level near 0.9800 but first it has to beat the 50 sma and the 0.9850 level.

The volatility which I expect EU to travel at least this week is 175 pips with the risk of going higher at the FED meeting this Wednesday where the FED is expected to raise the Interest Rate another 0.75% points but also leave open the chance for a slower raise at the December meeting.

I expect for the EU to slow the rates too and I stay neutral in this case with EURUSD the most problematic from the war in Ukraine and the energy crisis.

The Monthly and Weekly charts are still bearish with the the Daily consolidating below 1.0200.

Have not been in the forum for a while. I have had other interests occupying my time like grandchildren;-)

Just a quick note as I was reading a post from late last year and I noticed a typo. It should say

"Remember to buy the rumor and sell the fact. USD is safe haven so stay long USD until the Fed starts raising rates. When Fed starts raising rates, sell USD and stay with it. I know it sounds wrong but this is how I make my living. I am still short EURUSD long term until the change."

The "start" should have said "stop".

This has worked out fabulously in my long term account. I am still holding a short in my long term account from the break of the head and shoulders in Nov of 2021, "1.1657" and have added a few more on the way down.

Before you get bent out of shape and start name calling (or congratulating me if you are a positive thinker) I have 2 other accounts which I often trade against my main position so I did not make a gazillion dollars in my long term account.

My short term account is empty, got wiped out in May 2022 and I haven't refilled it. I was betting heavy on a rally up in the 1.07000/1.0600 range. That was a Bad Bet;-)

My medium term trading account, which I had been trading long EURUSD, has been idle for a few months. Since the US Federal Reserve stepped on the gas with interest rates I did not want to fight the Fed so I kept the powder dry. Just waiting for the next signal from The Fed. I want to wait and see before I enter any trades, long or short.

I am fully invested in EURUSD shorts in my long term account. I am thinking that if the Fed raises 75bp and then Powell gives dovish speech. I am going to cover about half of my position in this account. Can always add shorts if the trend down continues.
