I’ve gone a bit quiet as I’ve agreed to trade for someone short term, I said I’d never do it again but this time it’s a bit different so we’ll have to see.

I’ll keep popping in but I need to keep my head down until I’m done with it!

Billy could you see if you could run some stats. On the 7.00-7.30 30 min bar. for +5 i had alook and it looks good.

Hi bud, no offense but it is hard work doing that, i am trying my best to get away from full time trading and retire. lol

BUT, when i was doing these sorts of tests years ago , my best results where the 08-00 break and then 07-45 plus in hose days i did sleep around the 07-00 time.

Cable, the 07-45 break was fruitful, high broke and i got the %% plus a bit more.
The 08-00 bar did the same, High broke and i got the % BUT, as it was a manual close i didnt quite get a full pip, but most of it, lol, due to compounding i did get a full 1 % yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

You asked a question in the gu thread.
The answer that guy gave was almost the same as how i told you.
If you have a short at minus 20, stck on another short and place a long. I am not sure what +1 is.
that is very similar to me when i fix.

As I understand him, you start with a long and short hedge with a TP of +1 on both.

if one side (long or short) slips and is -20, you should build up another hedge, using the loss position for a better average price, in order to come out BE or with a small profit.


i have already tried this today, i.e. long/short with TP +1 and usually one has a profit on both sides.

once the TP+1 was not reached today and the loss (with the short) then became greater and greater.

i then shorted again and again and got a good average price. two hours ago the market then fell and i came out well with my average short price.


What do i do when the market no longer looks back and simply continues to rise? ...never mind, i'll experiment with the demo account;-)

Hi bud, that is it ..
First, Remember,, their is nothing wrong with using a stop.
But you have the main idea. hedge/counter the fail and make the money on the new trade.
When you are then in profit, close everything...... these things can still be traded but its better you get used to the way you have explained to me.

wow billy, that's a statement! then the direction is finally right. i'll practise this a lot.

interestingly enough, i did something similar years ago, but i discarded it because one day my account was destroyed.

Billy if the 7.45 candle or 8.00 candle is too big do you avoid? And how much in pips do you class as big? And when your fix takes long to complete how do stay focused just looking at each candle tick?

let us say 30 pips is a big candle.
= 1.if the 07-45 candle high is broken , there is a big chance i will not trade it. ( maybe!!)
After all, nowadays i am only looking for a very small amount of pips. ( 1) which is 1%.

= 2 If high broke and then retraced ,i would short off the 08-00 low break. i am now reducing the big candle size.

This example IS NOT A 07-45 candle , it is an example if it where.So the high broke on the 07-45 but i went short off the 08-00,
and yes this too can fail.

the 07-45 and 08-00 15 minute bars, both broke high and i went long for a couple of points, lol. more than enough..
maybe if price drops within the next hour i might short off the 08-00 low. (If it happens).
