Terrific post imho.
I stood up from my computer reading it this morning and punched my hands in the air in joy lol.
I have used a thousand words in my posts over the past 14 months (since back posting) to try and express what YOU have said in just two sentences.

I will drag something up about Quantitative & Qualitative data soon. This might be the most philosophical split in the camps of Forex traders that is not discussed.
And in the end, no one is more right or more wrong, just the way we all do it (trading) ourselves.
The short format is ...
There is no ONE way to trade our markets, or that only one WAY is best

Okay, here's a start, and I will do my best to keep it concise.

Briefly.

Data can be BOTH QUANTITATIVE or QUALITATIVE.
(and NOT necessarily Quantitative VERSUS Qualitative)

When a trader imagines to enter a trade, does that trader ever go through a moment of ... Data Anxiety

ie do we have enough information at this point in time to execute a trade
(well, what is enough I guess is up to each and every trader, and which makes each trader unique in their own way).

In the end as Blue/Kev has posted on more than a few occasions,
trading is really
YOU vs YOU
(as the market just ticks along [pun] without giving one thought to us, or what makes us trade)


So maybe we should consider what type of Trader we might be
Well here’s a potted version coming of Quant & Qual data (trading)

Remembering that Data is a merely a collection of information,
(such as numbers, words, measurements, observations OR just descriptions of things).

(I only wished to show ryu how I do it & how it 'could" be done tho).

PLUS ... MANY of my trades are NOT pretty, I tell Kev, Andy & Zoltan that often my trades are ugly & cowboy'ish lol



Often just a CHART with annotations is the best way to describe processes
and gives a better view for new traders trying to work through the quagmire of information presented to them as to HOW to trade these markets.

Mark has graciously shown in his Journal Thread here HIS own story & background and what led him to Stacey in the first place.

(I had not heard of Stacey till the past month or so when Mark and Kev both brought to my attention Stacey's view of Market Mechanics).

I like the pics.

I agree with your labels for Quality/Quantity. I have been on an Inflection point search the last few days. Opens a new attack front -)

These last 2 months have been filled with info input (is that not also considered data) and things like Inflection points fits right in my simple form theory of trading. Never thought I would advance as fast as I have, yet I have made this method mostly my own. Some things I still do not have a grasp of, so I just set them aside and barrel forward. As long as I have a solid base to trade from all is good.

There is only 2 problems here. First is that it is repeatable when you look at the historical data on your charts. If you interact with market it is not.
And second problem is that it is repeatable in max 47% of time. So if you tell us that you are profitable then you can magically skip bad entries to get your 50%+. Now please tell me how it can be possible without any magic wand?

And of course you don't need volume data if your trades are in your dreams only. Agree.

p.s. No fresh degen gamblers to read your "Flying Bullshit" thread and you came here with you fancy drawing tools?

It looks like you guys are forex brokers ambassadors: if you see a thread with really good questions and discussions you start immediately ruining it with your idiotic drawings.

To be honest, I understand how ryuryu traded. Direct answer, clear, and concise. Just follow the delta.

He even shares some of his bot to trade crypto.

But Timetells' line trading is really mysterious perhaps we can call it, "YOU VS YOU TRADING".

I never bothered to ask anymore. The matter is always returned back as "YOU VS YOU".lol

No offense. Just an observation and personal opinion.

I trade only using quantitative data analysis. Make portfolios of various signals - some win, some lose, some break even. The entire portfolio do some profits. You never know what will win.. any strategy can win/fail.. in some time span. For example several months or years. When having a combination of multiple strategies then all that randomness starts to play in your favor.

I published some research recently. How I make portfolios. Those "strategies" can be anything. Because of randomness, there is no point to think of too complicated rules. Just do not overtrade with one particular signal from your portfolio. Too many trades can lead to a huge drawdown. When you trade less with a losing strategy - then no big impact on portfolio performance.

We ALL understand how ryu trades, personally I don't have a need for vols the way I trade.

And it's always good to be honest, that way you don't get yourself into bother.

Now, as you state very clearly above you understand how ryu trades.

And you are over here responding to a discussion where ryu clearly suggests
as a fact
that Horizontal Line traders are liars etc etc etc

(ryu really is a , but of course that is just an observation and personal opinion, no offence intended)


So FMA could I ask how your trading went with volume & delta,
if you understood it so clearly I was wondering to myself why you would not be trading ONLY that, as it was concise stuff in your words.

I was just supporting another guy who wants to develop his strategy and I am not trading the way he does nor the way ryu trades. I think ryu's style is better for programmers and the like.
