Volman meets Burke or My journey with PA

I have come full circle on when I am going to trade. Only took about a month. Allowed me to study a lot of charts and watch a lot of live PA. Nothing beats chart time. My main weakness in trading is I have not been very disciplined. And that is all me and it reflects in the trades. Interesting. You cannot separate yourself from your trading, so, you need to train yourself. The mental part of this game is huge. Using a trade manager has helped immensely.

The learning curve has been fairly mild. I credit that to years of looking at charts, even though I was not trading PA. Subconscious absorption of patterns. I have read Volman and am starting on Brooks 3 volume set (skipping the first book). Definitely looking under the hood of this price action. Brooks will prove to be interesting. Volman was good to give a strong understanding of trading breakouts on the 5-minute chart. His stuff is the essence of old school.

I am looking at trading the currencies using basic Burke. The only difference is I may use the 5-minute to get more precise entries. At the highs/lows one and done. The MES is going to be mostly intraday swings and breakouts on the M5. The style will be spzd, an amalgamation of all the PA I understand at this point. All that remains is to refine my PA trading abilities.

Well, that was weird. Watching a recent Burke video. Paused it and looked at the charts. BAM!! The exact same pattern he was talking about is staring right at me. Complete different pair.

All in session trade ...

When they move price sideways below the high or above the low, prepare for a possible explosive breakout.

Quality over Quantity
Rinse. Repeat.
Repeatable. Scalable.

This is interesting. He is referring to mainly futures, but it can be any instrument. When I was heading toward index trading, I did some initial research at a sight focused more on futures. Thinking it may be useful. Not any more so than here at FF. They seem to run a tighter ship. Of the numerous ways to trade the indexes was to incorporate the use of market depth and I believe there are methods that use it. All a waste of time. If you have ever taken the time to look at a ladder you will see that it is quite unlikely to be able to make any real use of the data.

Traded Dax and was also watching Cable.
Messed up Cable since I missed an opportunity for a long?
But as an aside I see price has risen to fill gap made by UK Chancellors market crashing comments on tax cuts for well off.
What now. Fruit picking trade levels higher?

Following oil as an experiment. I want the break of the one minute FVG to hit lower 15 minute FVGap.

Have no desire to trade oil.


edit: posting is ok as price is price and we all learn. What I meant is oil is too finnicky for me.

That is exactly why I do not even go near oil. It is way beyond my level.

That was likely one of those inflection points. Range then BOOM.

The impulse bar was also likely the data release.

Advice needed please kind people.
Here is a Euro chart I marked up as an experiment to follow earlier today.
I chose levels going back a day and "Gap" levels ( in-between sessions level) as a trade guide to levels to watch.
my levels Burke friendly or have I missed anything?
