Traders RuckSack
My finance story started with a trip to London in 2012. Walking between the glass fronted towers of Canary Wharf left this incredible impression on me, that I wouldn't come to fully understand until years later. I'd always been interested in economics and personal finance, but I had no idea what to do with it. As Bitcoin started to gain traction in 2017 however, things would start to change. It wasn't long before I was engrossed in the charts on a daily basis, studying and analysing patterns that could improve my returns beyond those of a passive investor.
Over the next 5 years I dedicated my time to trading, initially within the Crypto sphere but eventually transitioning to Forex and Commodities. To the outsiders, trading looks incredibly boring, watching charts and price data all day would send many to sleep. But for those of us who get hooked by the intricate relationships between the worlds asset classes, trading becomes a way of life and one that presents many incredible challenges.
"A traders performance isn't limited by their ability to create a strategy, it's limited by their ability to execute that strategy"
Trading In The Zone by Mark Douglas highlights just how important discipline, preparation and temperament are to a traders performance. A strategy is agnostic to your mood or lack of patience and will not reward the slightest deviation from optimum execution. This is when I began to learn more about coding within the trading landscape, creating tools that could aid in this performance by expanding the scope of optimum execution.
I consider these tools more of an Exosuit that aids, as opposed to a robotic arm that will do the work for you. Tools for discretionary traders who enjoy the trading process and want to make a career from the profession. No get rich quick, no guarantee of large profits, just you, the charts and a little help.
Trading isn't for everybody, but if you have the skills and dedication, the markets will supply a lifetime of intrigue. And I hope these tools can aid in your journey to becoming the most effective trader you can be
