If a person has been short since 1.02xx and posting things like "the pair should drop now" and challenging others about their short-term bullish positions, then yes, that person would be wrong several times in the past 2 weeks. But let's not focus on that, because the thread creator has asked to be civil.

I agree with you that a 100bps hike is now a stronger possibility and also that Putin's words should not be taken at face value. Peace brother

Here are the probabilities of the upcoming FOMC rate hikes as consolidated by CME Group. With the recent confirmation of a continued Ukraine-Russia conflict, I think that aggressive FED rate hikes are to be expected. In the short-term, bulls may find reprieve in the 0.994xx - 0.995xx zone. There is strong historical resistance there.

Good morning, hope you're great. The bears seem promising on 1H, but I think there could be a bulls retest to 0.9940. For today, anything can happen, because we should wait for FOMC statement lol;

0.75% has priced in and bears allready are enjoying the profits, but! Putin came to bring the disaster, not for good and it is a recipe to keep the downtrend intact for longer term and if, Powell today hints for more and bigger rises - some rumors say above 1.00% rate rises, then EU should see 0.9700.

Great insight, mate. Thanks for the information! I agree, the Fed seems to be eyeing continued rate hikes. Long-term bears will be enjoying profits for some time!

Thanks for sharing buffedmage! Now that EU droped so low the only thing that matters is sell for me. So if, we see higher prices towards 1.0000 and 1.0100 then its good to sell.

i got bearish sentiment as of now too, but lets see. Its still unclear that zone which is next to current price , might become a supply/demand, based on upcoming news events , if that become supply , expecting more fall ,if demand it may go , to 1 area ,but as of right now the chances are slim. So i prefer wait and watch out whats happening in the zone..i think at 1 area , might become supply only if fomc bullish till 1 and rates must bear from 1 ...cant guess how it could be as news is always unexpected ..lets see

Not many here use Ichimoku Kinko Hyo (IKH), so maybe this will help provide a different perspective. IKH works best on D1 and above and I've found it majorly useful in establishing major trend. The green clouds on DXY indicate continued upwards movement, supported by the red line (fast MA) and the blue line (slow MA). Using this in conjunction with Bollinger Bands, significant support/resistance levels can be used to find pivot points. Adding Stochastic RSI, volatility and trend direction can be better established. The dollar continues to strengthen, and this is further confirmed by the aggressive rate hikes and Powell's hawkish speeches. Regardless if this drop is a reaction to either Putin's announcement or a 75bps hike being priced in, USD will be strong in the coming weeks.

On EURUSD D1, price is currently in a bearish continuation of major trend (seen by the thick red clouds). Stochastic RSI also indicates that EURUSD has plenty of room for downward movement. However, considering the possibility that the 75bps rate hike is already priced in, FOMC may lead to another ranging period for the pair and offer some buy opportunities for bulls in the short-term. This indecision can be seen by the crossing of the red and blue lines, slow MA and fast MA. However, the lagging line (green line) remains below the price line, which indicates that the long-term downward direction is still not over on D1.

All in all, bears have the advantage of the major trend and fundamentals.

Seems it has found some support after it travelled the desired weekly pips (0.9897) + some more. Now it has many choices and plus things I watch are: an extension of this downtrend below 0.9865 and the Monthly S1 level at 0.9847.
