NQ Day Trading

Good for you It doesn't work for me to hold trades overnight but sometimes i'll hold onto a trade throughout a trending session.

interesting chart. I took a screenshot of it and added a wavy trend line over the bottom indi you have. (I assume it is cumulative delta).
anyways, the divergence is telling on the daily. hitting the bids instead of the asks with a rising price looks to me someone(s) unloading.
on a scalp time frame, it is too much noise for me to concentrate on anything but price, even with caffine, but dailys' they can be helpful. market liquidity
is crap for the most part, I've also notice the NQ seems to have approximately 200pt ranges at or around the whole numbers. lots going on
between 12200 and 12800.
the ES and other indicies similar behavior.
sorry for butchering your chart, my neighbors 5yr old would probably do a better job.

I've heard that you can't win if you don't play.
so, first entry impatience led me to enter, had not seen any usual setups, and going into a draw down. shortly after a long setup, even though I could have cashed out then, decided to let it run to the top of the range and see if any other reversal setups would appear. took one on the way up, again a bit of impatience, then
shortly after a reversal setup, entered short again and closed at my first entry for a plus 88T total. no real fear it could have taken off as it looked
pretty range bound this morning. so with multiple mistakes I came out ahead by eventually following my plan. definitely violated the first and 3rd point on the above quote. I should remind myself of this more often. caused me to consider the second one, but stuck with
my original plan. glad I did.
a bit of a break today recovering from a back strain lifting things I probably should not have. back to work tmro on the remodel.

MNQ daily chart update - fib pulled down to yesterday's low, perhaps the beginning of a pullback into the fib levels, catalysed by NFP ..we'll see.

..bit of 'jobbing' post data (MNQ), 2000 tick.

NQ, 2000 tick - taken 2 +40T shorts off 2-legged-pullbacks (to the EMA10 & trendline) using the reversal candle pattern entry posted about a while ago. Hope y'all enjoyed yesterday's holiday.

cheers. Yes, the EA for me has always been the goal. To try and reduce the number of revenge trades, bored trades, no planned trades, plus anything else that has been the biggest cause of DD. I am slowly getting the forex pairs to work out well, which means I can get funded accounts at least. Going to add TopStep FX in the future to the roster, and then if I can automate my trades on the Nasdaq (CFD), see if I can get the futures automated too. Trying to get everything done in Tradovate meant having to be a discretionary trader, so would have to move to another programable language and platform.

What sort of account do you have with TST?

had quite the holiday 3 day weekend. barely recovered and right back at the remodel. had some time today to watch the market movements. took a couple of shorts for a 60T total around the whole number. looking back at the market conditions, it seems to be ready to go full "leroy jenkins" at a moments notice. next week
sept-dec futures roll and options expiration mixed in with all of the other noise.
looks like you are getting pretty comfortable with the approach you are taking. good job.
probably no trades tmro, no need to push my luck.

..first hour and 1 +40 (MNQ), long. Poor entry, a whole 2000T candle late, thankfully momentum saved the day. Need to work on trailing the stop under the lows more.

...caught one more long for +40. Several other setups missed due to work. Good to see the approach holding up in today's spikey/rangey pa.

nice work on the setups. I am not a fan of late session trading, but since remodeling has cannibalized my time, it is mostly what I have.
saw a setup around the 4125-30 level. missed my second entry by 3T, but held for plus 20T. lots of positioning before economic numbers tmro am.
also have had to change tactics trading this late to more predictive range vs. usual chart patterns I look for early in the session.
should I assume the heavy green horizontal line on your chart is opening price?
back to the salt mines.

..using an auto OHLC for the previous week and day, that line is last week's high which it takes from the Sunday. Hope the remodeling is going well, hats off to you.

hey guys, been lurking and enjoying your journeys. Noeyedear, how are you determining longs vs shorts? Is it based on highs and lows or which side of the 21 EMA?

..i've settled on the 10EMA for direction and also the indi Tiki QQE (an RSI derivative), in combination they work well as a filter and with the MNQ chart up alongside NQ, like to see both in 'agreement' before pulling the trigger.
