Hello guys, i am new memberfrom brussels, hope you all good.. i looked into all the post of this topic, could someone say me wich version of icarus is the final one at the moent ? and particular settings ? thanks a lot

Mapi : dis you guys have a discord for Icarus ? it will be a must to have it , it's live , fast, can catégorised all the stuff between imputscoders space, results ect..

EA working on all currents forex , also on ftmo demo for indicis US30 , but when i want to launch the ea on mmf on US30 the expert just open de buy enn sell , but not the pendings and the take profits and see the msg :
==> 2022.09.19 10:16:26.802 Icarus_2.2 US30,M1: zero divide in 'Icarus_2.2.mq4' (532,34)

Someone know how to fix that ? thanks..

I know people using the EA in US 30 (I personaly trade SPX500 cash and future with it). So my only guess is A) Settings wich are not matching the instrument / B: A broker who set up the market in a astrange way...Cheers

No, I don´t...I can not handle it to visit this forum to often, so there are no resources for that atm, Cheers

Hi, I run the EA via manual entry (hot buttons) and have than a logic that suits the market and what I want to achieve in the situation. If you want to find autmatic settings there is only one way: Backtesting ( a lot, realy a lot) and then frontesting for a while on a demo account...Cheers

I discovered this thread right now. Haven't read anything yet, but I see that you from first post and until today are talking about magic numbers. That is a shame. It really complicate things. Magic numbers are not necessary.

All of my robots can run on any number of instruments. Normally they run on all Forex pairs at the same time. And I never once have used magic numbers in my coding.
MetaTrader 4 - so many advantages.

Options set and aut trade set. I must have missed something.
I have been using and programming Mt4 for years so I'm not sure why.

probably like to know how's the progress of 'hedging' functionality and the closure to the hedges.
swap may eat into cost especially growing inflation!
PDX adjusts risk, not scales..

Hey PDX, welcome on board! One of the reasons I switched some months ago is swap. Check my real account wich is attached to this forum, you will find I gained positive swap overall. So I searched short entry points for EURUSD and long entries on XXXJPY (just shying away here currently due to a possible invetion of BoJ). Also I stoped trading US500cash and trade now CFD on SPX500 Future (my broker is offering this swap free).

instead trailing up, with smaller gains or even loss?

hey MaPi, thanks for the welcome!
good to see that brokers do offer both +/-ve swaptions - typically seen some FF members expressing concerns regarding swap rates + financing markups (on top of spreads).
avoid the cash side, futures yield higher vols hehe
how about looking into ES index for even more vols than traditional SPX fut?

Hi,

First of all, thanks to everybody doing the coding and providing this tool and its steady improvements to all the fellow traders for free, really appreciate that!


I started fiddling with this last week and can already tell that there's some great pontential for me in this ea, the only thing I noticed are the account-meltdowns when in backtesting-mode, because the account-protection measures don't seem to apply when running historical data.

Would it be somehow possible to add a "hard stop loss" that is dependent on the total sum of all open positions ("P/L Sym." in the tool) and automatically closes all positions when a certain negative amount is reached?

Sometimes a very profitable setting shredds the account due to a single big move blowing the chart out of the grid (I'm experimenting with a scalping setup on low timeframes, so the grid and take profit are rather tight), and such a set stop would mean just a little dent in the backtesting-graph instead of a full blown account, thus making backtesting for us easier.

I added the version I'm currently using in the attachement just for reference, thanks!

hi, I am new to this thread, when I tried the EA, it doesn't open any trades as it suppose to in the 1st thread, I just use the default setting. but when I manually clicked and opened buy and sell order, it seems running okay. can you help me is there any other thing I need to config for this EA ? thank you.
