Hi Indi I saw an interview once with Tommy and he told a story how as a young boy he wrote to the legendary Chet Atkins
... and got a reply
they went on later to actually play together as adults, Tommy an inspiration for sure
"When my dad passed away, I wrote a fan letter to Chet. On the envelope I wrote: “Chet Atkins. Nashville. America.” That was all I wrote, and he got it! He wrote back to me and sent me a signed photograph and everything. From there, we became pen pals. When I was eighteen, unknown to me, a friend of mine recorded a tape of me playing in his lounge room and sent it to Chet. Then I got a letter out of the blue from Chet saying, “When you get to Nashville, call me. Here’s my office number,” and I’m like “wow, what the hell is this?”

Johnny Jenkins had a band The Pinetoppers in the early 60's and had a young Otis Redding as a singer,
or
Otis already had a band that was going nowhere & Johnny asked if he could back Otis with his band
(the story varies, as many do, depending on who's telling the story)
Anyway, years later here, and doing the old Sleepy John Estes song Leaving Trunk (song has a few other names as well I believe
)

Hi G great find,
That Strange Days album doesn't get enough airplay these days, was a very interesting album (with Robbie Krieger on guitar)
Your song from it though I think was banned from the radio airplay in Oz in its early days
they used to censor quite a bit back then,
even the odd song The Red Baron had the word bloody "beeped out" from the song lol
- and might actually have made the song more interesting
