Yes, it is the implementation that is nearly impossible, have just finished a lot of back scanning, and learned a few things. I looked for some long trends in currencies and the 500 and learned that long, strong trends are very rare and nearly extinct. Impossible to tell if a 50 to 80% drawdown is just a retrace or trade-destroying reversal. Also learned that by trying to "let profits run", I was giving back too many pips. One negative was that if price action had no obvious impediments to the movement (think S/R), then I would expect the trend to continue, in reality all too often the big boys would engage in profit-taking and I would give back too much.

Also noted that my trades were not that bad usually getting most of a swing and not leaving that much on the table. Also learned that in the past year I have not had any terrible trades, have been good at not moving stops, I have had terrible trading days, due to 3 or 4 losses in a row on one day. That is an issue. I have heard experts say that after two losses stop trading for the day. That is really tough for me, I tend to think that after two losses I have figured out what the market is up to. Also, I am not by nature a quitter and also many times I do turn a day around and get back to break even on the day.

Essentially I am a swing trading, day trader, looking to be out of the market overnight. I started with the basic TMS and modified that and added a few of your ideas and my entries are almost entirely indies triggered and my exits are initially set to 1.2 of risk, then I will look at market structure, fib lines, BNR, I will already have looked at and evaluated S&R and then I adjust the TP and SL as necessary, once that is done I never move the SL unless it is to break even, I will sometime move the TP out if the market looks strong. I always spend a lot of careful, focused time listening to what the candlesticks are telling me.

I am very grateful for your generosity and hard work, so I do not post my charts, they are too far from your teachings. I will mention, somewhat cautiously, that one indie I like is the Williams %R, it helps to filter out the whipsaws in the TDI.

One thing, others might find useful, I always drop down to the one-minute time frame and check to see how long the current swing has been active. For example, if I have a sell signal on the 15 and the one minute already has 30 candles going down, then I will not enter until the one minute has reset with a new sell signal of its own. This has saved me a ton of stress as often the signals generated on the 15, come just as the one minute is about to reverse. Trends within trends.

I am still struggling to understand hidden divergence and will revisit that again.

To filter out the whipsaws in the TDI CAN BE DONE INCONJUNCTION WITH STOC >50 for BUYs and <50 FOR SELLs as mentioned on my 1st post.

I was wondering waht happened to Dean Malone the guy who created the TDI indicator, he disappeared from trading in 2018, so found this from compass FX

Dean is alive and well! Who knows, you may even see him on an occasional webinar with us. Nothing in the works now but you never know about the future.

He felt a calling to become more involved in his own church as well as working with other churches. He is very busy which is just how he likes it. Last I heard he was not trading due to his schedule.

So kind of a feel good story for Christmas, when i was in his trade room I was always impressed not only by his intelligence but also by the calm, good grace with which he manged all the distractions whilst trading the 15 minute charts live! Nice to hear he is doing well.

I been studying the original TMS thread but I dont think i can do the 4 hour charts I dont feel like its enough setups weekly for me can anybody thats using 30 minute time frame let me know on average how many trade setups are they getting a day and on what pairs?

you need to know the higher TFs H4 , Daily and Weekly and follow the market conditions when you trade M30.

if H4 is choppy then it is difficult to pick the buy low and sell high in LTF.

this is difficult when market goes into narrow range,

Weekly and Daily will give your the heads up.

i know i must look at higher tf to see if markets are ranging or trending i understand that im just trying to figure how many trade setups are you getting per day on the 30 minute charts and do you mind sharing the chart template and indicators in images above they look real good
