Williams%R, SAR X-over 15 minute candles

You might have explained this already (am only on page 90 of the thread), but I was wondering why you moved away from the original system taught in this thread?

Hi Ben , but haven't you noticed that this thread is a huge joke?

Rocky posts his screenshots with a couple of arrows and says: " Today I earned 20 pips"
The next day he says "I made 26 pips today" , and so on - since 2020 ...
When someone asks for a proof, or a TradeExplorer, or a myFxbook, he doesn't answer

I too could open a thread , posting some screenshots and say : " today I made 24 pips "... but it is not a serious matter

When this thread sleeps because no one posts , he keeps it alive by saying that he went to the beach, or to dinner with his wife:but who cares?

Finally , please you notice: in over 3,000 posts ( and two years ) the losses that Rocky claims to have suffered are very few ... if so, he would be a millionaire and he would not need to post on FF.

However, good luck to him and to those who believe in his fairy tales.

I needed two trades to hit my goal today. I used yesterday's high as the profit target on my somewhat late first entry. Second entry did the trick.

Again, my goal this week on the ES was simply to lock in 25 ticks gross profit, and to do so in 3 trades or less (to prevent overtrading).



Anyone familiar with the ninjatrader platform with know these are real trades by looking at the chart. The only thing I change is the font style and size to better suit my eyes. The platform itself prints the text and markers where trades and ONLY where trades actually occurred. I am not familiar with "Trade Explorer" or "myfxbook," and frankly, I am only concerned with developing my own discipline and my own skills as a trader. I am not posting here to prove myself, but to help others who are also trying to learn to use this methodology to their advantage.

I do not agree with the poster who chose to categorize this methodology as a "joke." As far as I have seen, rocky is not here to sell anyone anything and simply is sharing his ideas here with us on FF. Isn't that why FF was started to begin with? For we amateur traders to share ideas and help one another?

I don't mind showing my chart with my trades from time to time, but really, no one here owes anyone anything other than common courtesy, good manners, and a modicum of respect. The negative poster does owe rocky and those of us subscribed to this thread an apology. However, I won't expect it, and I do wish that he ultimately finds whatever it is he is looking for in the markets and his time here at FF.

This system has an edge, and it will allow you to become a consistently profitable trader. However, it will do so only if you make the effort and put in the time to learn to make it your own, and you develop the discipline to follow the signals you have pre-defined, and avoid chasing missed entries, revenge trading, and over-trading. Many other systems on FF also have edges that would allow a skilled and disciplined practioner to be consistently profitable.

But keep this in mind: In trading, you are the edge. When a struggling trader asks, "what am I missing?" the answer is almost always, "you are what is missing." When a would-be trader becomes an internet troll, the reason is not those whom he trolls, but his own character.

Wow Euro reacted to news with a wild ride down 80 ticks then up 100+ ticks in les than 15 mins. See if maket calms down otherwise too fast and volatile for me.

I started thread after being away from trading for awhile travelling. Taking my wife to see all the places she's wanted to see. Actually if it wasn't for Covid we still might be travelling and I wouldn't be trading. But once it became apparent Covid wasn't going away anytime soon, out of boredom went back to trading. I found that most of my systems were too fast for me now(I was out of shape lol) so I made something slower. 15 mins. turned out too slow for me so I went to 5 min.
Then when I decided to stop trading FX and focus on futures I started tweaking the system, then I started my little teaching project and started changing systems don't know exactly how many we went through. Some mine some my students. Evedntually through trial and error arrived at what I have now.
Also narrowed down what we/I trade from the indexes, to just ES and currency futures, to now almost only the Euro with ocassional other currencies and MES once in a while.
My students are doing well and we add a person here and there. For most part they ask more about life advice than trading advice now, which is great. In some ways I'm becoming unecessary as they become more confident and independent. I'm just Papi.
What I do now is comfortable for me fast enought so I don't get bored, but also relatively stress free.

Closed 2 trades since things calmed down a bit 1 a nive win, 1 a small loss and still in 1 trade where 10 ticks is locked in.

As far as negative comments about me or the system, that's fine. Find some value in what I say or not that's up to the indiviual. As far as the system it's pretty easy to see that during the times I trade with just using a little discretion and good money management Euro futures are pretty straight forward to trade. Super volatile instruments like nasdaq or es, not so easy but doable. I mostly stopped trading those because my focus is to make my trading as stressless as possible.
I'm happy doing what I do and how I live. Hopefully I help a few people along the way. That's just payback for the help I've received along the way.

I have been using 5 Renk for 6B, 6E, and ES. But today with the volatility, I'd have increased the ES block size to 10 renko.

Euro and Pound, even when moving fast, I find that 5 renko is the sweet spot for me.

The great thing about trading is the freedom!! I can totally relate to your story RP. I Started back in the middle 90's. Traded all those internet stocks like AOL, Yahoo then traded a little Forex for a while. But really did like how the forex trading went. Now I do not trade individual stocks much any more. To much work. So I trade the ES or NQ or Oil. I trade the Micro's on those also.

There are many ways to trade and make money in the Markets. My systems use mostly tick charts. RP like Range charts both work. Actually, I have times where I did not trade for 6 months just to get a way from it for a while. But I end coming back to it. It is a lot of fun for me.

Just have to learn how markets work. then it gets easier. My systems now are ultra simple and work better than all the complicated fancy stuff. Just have to know when to not trade. Some days it is better to do something else. That will save someone big right there.

I like what you are doing with the RSI here RP. I do the same thing. I do not use 70/30 for over bought and over sold. My lines are at 50 also. I use the same thing on CCI, williams %R, Stoch-RSI and MACD which I use my own settings not the standard ones. I find that if I do not fight the up or down trend with the RSI then it generally goes pretty good.

Rocky: I use Think or Swim, and have been using it for over 25 years. Now just trade /mes, /6e, /gc, /6n. Others are too fast, or too volatile for me. I really like Renko bars 12 but find them too, very fast to enter at times; or I must be glued to the charts during my trading times, 8:30 to 10:30 Central. My question is, any suggestions as to how I can slow things down so as to trade Renko and keep my eye on the 4 charts I follow. My entries and exits are similar to yours.

rocky was trading spot forex, not cfd's I believe. I remember early in the thread he was trading at TD Ameritrade and he remarked that the spreads were just too wide and made it difficult to manage trades.

If you are able to open a futures account with Ninjatrader I'd say go for it. You can start with micro contracts on the currencies as well. But both 6E (Euro) and 6B (Pound) futures are only $6.25/tick so not too strong if you start with one contract. I much prefer futures to spot currency markets. I am in the USA so we do not have access to CFD's.

Iswitched for multiple reasons, but rading FX in US ia problematic now. Tax advantages to futures. Way better regulated, beter spreads, commissions and
good volume data.

Yes Rocky: I use 12 Renko bricks.. Chosen only because compromise between very fast and very slow. Use also 9 period EMAs of high and low for aid in entrance.

I've been trading off and on for over 12 years and this is the best system I've seen if you use proper money management. I'm using the old method from the beginning of the thread I just use the 5-minute candle as my lead, not the 15-minute candle. I will try to start loading my trades next week if I take any.
