Williams%R, SAR X-over 15 minute candles

The only time I look at Htf is over the weekend but for most part no. The OBV simple want to see it rising for longs and descending for shorts.

What exactly do you want to know?

I remember I tried to set up the charts like yours, but ended up getting the wrong ninjatrader. Then after I realized that I downloaded the right one but couldn't combine heiken ashi with renko, I just don't know how to do that, it seems impossible

Ok I use Ninjatrader 7 I don't know if you can do it on 8. This is how you do it on 7.
Click on data series icon change type to Renko size to 5, click apply then OK
Next click on Indicator scroll down to Heiken Ashi click on that then click on new, then apply, then ok
That should do it, if you have 8 pretty sure you can't do it.

1) Download ninjatrader 8

2) Once you have NT8 installed, set up the market data feed and make sure you are getting real time data, even if you are using a demo account, then

3) go to this link and download the Heikin Ashi 8 indicator: Heiken Ashi 8 - NinjaTrader Ecosystem

4) Watch the video at the bottom of that same page which will show you how to import the Heikin Ashi indicator

5) create a new chart of the 6E (EUR/USD), 6B(GBP/USD) or ES/MES (S&P 500 emini and emicro) or whichever market you are going to trade. Set your background colors, and other colors etc to your liking.

6) set the bar/candle to 5 renko

7) add the Heikin Ashi 8 indicator to your chart

8) Add the ema of the high and the ema of the low and set the ema to an 8 period ema.

9) Add the Swing indi to the chart, use the stock settings. I like the swing indi because it will often help with profit targets and seeing trading ranges and breakouts. But I do not use it to filter trades. I use it as a reference tool. The price action of the candles, and the +DI/-DI are my main decision inputs.

9) add whichever other indi's you would like. Rocky uses RSI, ADX, and OBV, I use only the DM indi and usually set the ADX line to transparent. I use the +DI/-DI only.

What is your version of Ninja trader?
Lifetime or free?

I have lifetime. I don't think that that should make a difference though. The main benefit of buying the lifetime license is the reduced commissions through Ninjatrader brokerage.

I have taken 2 Trades so far.

Euro - B/E

NAS - Win

I had to narrow the candles so that you can read the entry and target for this premarket ES/MES short. I took the profit at 6.25 points because that is my daily goal on the ES. 6.25 is $312.50/contract and you can trade as many contracts as your broker will allow on your available margin. So, if you are trading one contract, and you want to give yourself a raise, then trade two contracts. If you are trading two contracts and you want to buy a house on the beach looking out onto the ocean, then trade 10 contracts.

Once I make that 25 ticks on the ES, I'm usually done with that instrument for the day. ES/MES is still short from the same signal as the -DI is still above the +DI and she is running. Personally, I was happy to have gotten my profit target filled when I did because very often the opening minute or two of the US open can really whip saw, and it is not always kind to shorts as the bulls tend to stampede at the open more than the bears.

So, I did not go flat on that doji or the two green candle bounce. I stay in a trade until it gets to target or the DI's flip.

Like rocky has said, this system won't be for everyone. But I put in some work watching, observing, and then tweaking it ever so slightly to make it my own. For me, this is nearly the Holy Grail. For others, it will just be another "system that has no edge."

Mostly wins, and what losses I have are small. I am almost always trading on the right side of the market. I let price and the indicators tell me what to do. I do not grab for a breakeven stop. I am "trading in the zone" with rocky's latest system.

But keep this in mind: In trading, you are the edge. When a struggling trader asks, "what am I missing?" the answer is almost always, "you are what is missing."

Slow start with a small win, followed by a nice runner

Hey rocky, thanks v much for the thread. I'm trading the original version with the ema, %r, and SAR and am quite enjoying it for fx! I know you don't worry too much about entering trades across correlated pairs, but I was wondering whether you limit the number of trades you're in at any one time? Specifically when trading fx.

Happy to hear it's going well. Generally tried not to let # of trades at 1 time get past 4/5. But that depended on PA on a good trending yes 4/5 otherwisw less trades 2/3. I found that rangey days you will make more trades shooting for smaller wins, so you need to focus a little more.

good trading Rocky. I found myself on the wrong side of the Market on Euro today and took a loss shorting it.

I have now opened a ninjatrader demo account and tried to copy your template... I believe I have managed it just fine, but my EMA`s dont seem to be correct.
If you could show your settings for those would be very helpful!

Rocky, I am new to Forex factory and new to your site. It’s wonderful and I appreciate so much your effort to share. I just wanted to add my small implementation that helps me put things together. I use Weighted moving average of the highs and also of the lows. Which ever you may wish. I also use simple moving average of the close as dots and lines which shows me exactly what’s going on at any time. I do love the crossings of the DMI, I find the ADX a little slow in the swing index a little fast. Just my observations. Thanks again.
