the memories. the shaking memories. I was actually trading it daily, and that day... .wow. I have never gone back in the past to see it again. This is the first time I see it again.

Was quite a surreal moment and I believe to have actually fallen in shock from it back then. I had been having dreams of exactly that happening and then, wow, it did. Cannot express the feelings, the horror, the luck (I had a short in)... Never again have I been able to trade eurchf....

Seeing it again I exploded in laughter like a lightning strike to my core !!!!! Thanks a million mate !

Wow haha! Would have shit my pants. I have seen the comments from 2015 and it's really disturbing how many people got destroyed that day and even owned money because of their SL not activating. Insane..
I traced all of the statements and speeches from SNB prior to this crash. People said that SNB never warned them, but they actually did. 2 days prior the crash they were warned, but didn't pay attention. The news was marked as low-impact on FF so nobody paid attention to it. Grave mistake. As many say, you just don't screw with SNB, ever.

SNB’s Danthine says ECB QE likely to make CHF cap defence more difficult.

About the "sudden" rate hike that occured month prior by 0.50, well, we were also warned by Jordan himself. He stated that if inflation remains stubborn above 2% that they will hike rates and if the rate hike does not help in reducing inflation, they will hike rates yet again. So if we see inflation being persistent in the upcoming months, the likelihood of SNB raising rates again is very much an option. They do complain however that CHF is too strong and that they will continue to intervene in the market. The way I see CHF is that it's really very similar to Gold. It just doesn't lose value unless the bank intervenes and starts selling it. There is something interesting however and that is that every time the USD came to or close to parity with CHF, sudden buying of CHF started which drove USD below 0.95 vs CHF three times already in these last two months. I find it interesting how SNB doesn't want CHF this strong, but SOMEONE else definitely does.

I think it's unbelievable that CHF was/is stronger than the USD now in it's glory days. Just goes to show how strong CHF really is. Soon to be 2.50% interest rates vs -0.25% and yet..

Especially interesting because it was a big moment in my career and also because I rarely stop and think about fundamentals at all; yes, even after having lived that. Always been trading purely mechanical systems. I do trade with leverage that can take a black swan event. Even though I was fortunate enough to not get negatively hit by one yet, I've come across too many people who have, and it is factored in my risk management plans. I am sometimes worried about the many traders here sharing very high gains. Worried only for a second, because my nature brings me to give them the benefit of the doubt, and I convince myself to rather consider that most of them have multiple accounts of varying risk, and choose to only show their "for fun" high risk account because it would be their most exciting side

We can see that with the aid of Kazaks statement about hiking rates again in September contributed to Euro finally breaking out out of this triangle. Some pips could have been taken here if you were fast to act.

However, it does there lacks to be enough liquidity for it to make stronger move up. No news today, meaning we could be seeing a pretty uneventful day today, basically price ranging from one price to the other.

ECB's Kazaks says big interest rate hikes may not be over, September hike needs to be quite significant and a too weak Euro is a problem.

Now, significant would mean at least 50bps rate hike in my opinion.

If all remains the same we should be seeing another 50bps rate hike on 8th of September. Market is going to start pricing this in soon, so when the 8th of Septemeber comes, it will have no effect or will have a negative effect on Euro in the short term of course. As we witnessed the last time, they were saying they would only go for 25bps rate hike, so when they actually did 50bps rate hike Euro got strong really quickly, because the market really only priced in 25bps. This are the things we have to pay attention to.

For anything that I see as important in the near future we will write it down in this Journal. Don't want any unexpected event to happen because I forgot what this people said 2 months prior for example and wonder why one of the currencies "suddenly" got strong or weak.

No forecasts for August and that's excellent. That means the market practically priced in everything so far. Any news that come out today and in the future from now on will have an effect on the market sooner then later.
