NQ Day Trading

Nice result! ..i haven't taken anything yet, was tempted by the break of the hoagie a few minutes before open but held off in the end.

'Mother' candle, containing 2 or more inside, enter on break or break close of the mother - with context, trend/S&R etc, seems quite powerful and prob applies to most TFs. I haven't used anything other than 1min with the setup so far.

..here's an example from just now...and trail stops under the lows..good for scalping.

looks like you consider wicks too, not just bodies. Correct?

..wednesday's hmm..to trade or not to trade..well given the cpi move pre-market and the fact that it's a weds, sat on hands until the action had calmed down a little. Just exited a 1:1 hoagie long. I prefer to enter these setups when the breakout candle closes near it's extremes, seems a useful filter.

nice trade. missed the ny open,again, no breakfast hoagie for me. barely managed a plus 10T from the breakfast sampler tray.
letting price action settle a bit before diving back in.

..i'll focus on hoagie setups for the first 2hrs US usually. This last one, short, needed a slightly different entry, off the pull-back after the break of the hoagie. Momentum kicked in and trailed tightly for a quick scalp. The fib of the first hour initial balance was useful decision support.

the entry, the short you made looks good using a vol profile, as well as good break below of the whole number. I missed several short entries
on the mes around the same time frame. greed, lack of concentration etc. keep up the good work.

good spots, lots of confluence on that one. I'm with you, some days i just can't make head nor tail and would be better off, switched off. Cheers.

good advice. took a break, made the wife and I a BLTCM (bacon lettuce tomato cheese mustard for me/mayo for her) on toast for lunch.
looked in and grabbed 20T short from the mes break even as it was turning down. this time of day, margin calls go out in the
ny session so a bit more volatility to take advantage of. time to switch off for the afternoon.

Question for you two I know this is NQ trading journal but have you guys ever used the 30sec/1min ORB on other assets like on other indicies or even forex pairs ?

Tried the ORB for a while but didn't suit me.

..missed this UK breakfast hoagie earlier, delicious..

just a quick note before I am accosted by household creatures great and small, haven't traded forex in 3-4 years. I mostly stick with the es/mes although
I keep an eye on the nq and ym due to the component overlap. orb being a breakout method of approach, could also work during any upcoming
anticipated volatility event, although I would practice, practice and practice some more. my current chart setup doesn't quite accommodate
this method but a time based chart seems better, and especially for the hoagie. got to run, I hear noises

a fed head on the wires now so I'm taking a breather. able to begin looking at the markets about 10:10 NY time. watched it draw down to around 3725-30 level
major options levels on the es. took a long on a spike down for a plus 20T. the spike actually is a 2B I was hoping for. a bit risky in these
market conditions to scalp, but decent liquidity this morning. also marked out what could have been a hoagie right after the ny open had I been
in front of the computer. index options expirations tmro so one more added thing to deal with volatility wiseregards
