{quote} Hi @Igrok, I am not sure if you have looked into this question or not, but I will ask it anyway,

the world economy is already in systemic crisis... it's a hard fact and there is nothing can be done about it... the idea of globalism is agonizing... at this moment US is trying to soften its own economy hard landing at the expense of EU, which is doomed and soon will fall apart after donating about a couple of trillions USD to the US economy, which is still not going to be enough for safe landing...

{quote}how much would the markets "rules" ,that is those which must be formally abided by, regulators lawmakers etc, have to change in order that your current view on the market and beliefs around patterns etc would be invalidated ?

no way... pretty much like no rule of physics can be cancelled by any administrative measures... the law of gravity, for example, exists objectively and cannot be changed at humans will... same is here... my patterns are objective markings of the fundamental laws of financial markets...

{quote} You strike me as someone who probably has given this some thought and it would be interesting to hear from you what types of interventions could be considered in a panic ( I suppose closing the markets is one option) and how they might impact the playing out of the market(s).

I'm expecting just the usual stuff to take place... circiut-breakers will be applied in accordance with the threshold rules for volatility control... these measures will be ineffective and quite useless until the markets to reach their due and designated bottom levels... at the very end about 85-90% of the maximum markets' values will be wiped out... it's inevitable...

Igrok, good stuff as always.
IMO, the Dow is due for a slight correction....maybe up to 35,000-36,500 before PLUMMETING to you levels.
Why? With the economy imploding, they cannot let 401Ks cut in half so quickly or the people will revolt. Plus, the market makers will always try to sucker more suckers into the market with their phony narrative before taking it down.

If we look at cryptos, they brought it down right before announcing the CBDC implementation starting Feb2023.

I agree that this admin and the central banks are doomed at this point. It all depends how much of the population will continue to trust their system or not.

We will see....the next 3-4 months will be interesting.
Lost....

sorry, but I have a totally different view on current and future events... first, on my opinion, 35000-36000 level for DJIA is completely out of reach forever as it will never get back that high even for a split second...in order to match my expectations the market has to plummet first to the expected levels of about 21000-23000 zone... second, the administrations of western countries will not be able to control such a chain of the event that will inevitably bring the world economy to such a disaster as yet another great depression... liberal ideology will continue prevail over common sense and even over the instincts of survival till the very end.... it means that modern western nations, that already look like a bunch of self-castrated societies, will also continue to play the role of the victims of the govs' liberal agenda till they fall apart completely... sure, numerous civil unrests will take place all over, but not in any productive or creative way... it's gonna be more like street anarchy, thus completely chaotic and destructive... though there will be one more market correctional waive from the level mentioned above which at best is to reach current levels before attacking and revisiting 2008-9 lows...

Apologies but I put my BTC correction levels since I'm following that too.
My correction for DowJ is at 33,000-34,000 which should reach the bottom trend of the diamond pattern you talked about weeks ago. A drop to 21,000 should be sudden and not gradual, at these levels, no? Currently, PA is at weekly 200EMA and dancin' so we'll see which direction it will ultimately go in the next couple o' weeks.
I agree with your sociopolitical analyses. The only way out of this mess is an intervention of any kind (people revolting/uprising or a coup d'etat) which may start in the US and spread all over. The question is.....do we or anyone have the balls to start one?

there are some additional indirect indicators in regards to DJIA future behavior... one of those is Amex charts... a smaller size diamond depicted here on the picture shows that there will be no correction on the DJIA till MOT at 67.00 level on Amex is reached... it will take two to five months from today as the move is impulsive enough...

in regards to politics it seems to me that any revolt shall lead to a civil war which is even worse than gradual devastation...
