Hey man
Thank you for your effort.
I was very critical in the previous thread because they distorted the initial intent and therefore I'm happy to see you again.
Just to contribute if I can.
The results you show in post n. 3 how did you get them? With an ea?
Why do you want to improve them with such excellent results? What are your doubts or needs?
I don't predict. I try to react.

I posted a template here: https://www.forexfactory.com/thread/...4#post14007444

I think this is in line with the spirit of the original Crow method.

Hi everyone. My contribution will be more of philosophy than anything else. Nobody really knows where the market will go because we have no control over it and no indicator will give you anything because they are all delayed, although you have to start somewhere. What I propose is not to seek rewards so fast and let the operation run more until at least 1:1. Monza's question is pertinent and those past results do not say that the event will be repeated. I did 3 trades on Friday on demo looking for stops and profits at 15 pips in eurusd audusd and nzdjpy using the samsha indi from the previous thread with good results. So that's my proposal: look for at least a 1:1. Following them with interest.Sorry my english

derekw, I am not an expert in blocks. Did you took that operation and got to where that red square is? I would support what I wrote recently about letting the operation run more

The Win Rate looks great, however, it doesn't translate that well into $. Stop losses are high... trades are closed too early (5 - 10 pips). Better exits are needed, to improve R:R. A Lower Win Rate with a higher profit is more attractive.

You could just delete the indicator from your MT4 folder.

C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\0A89B723E9501DAD3F2D5CB4F27EBDAB\MQL4\Indicators. Bold portion will be different on your PC.

A newer version has been updated, which should help. Alerts will no longer popup on initial load, only when there is a new signal.

Hey
Take a look to indi post from DerekW. There is a TMA (DJsalperway) that tryed on tester repaint almost nothing.
When the price go over the band you took only short when go below only buy. Unluckily the band has not buffer. I don't Know if is possible integrate it with your indi for give only 1 signal.
I don't predict. I try to react.

Thanks to samsha786 for setting up this thread and the info posted...very useful. The original thread has gone off on a currency strength tangent led by P.Action. Anyways, back off hols and looking to further investigate/test this zz logic that underlies the first part of the original thread and this new one.

Re your info posted samsha786, the sample size of 1400+ trades on the spreadsheet certainly seems representative. Do you mind if I ask a couple of questions, as below?

1. Are the trades posted in that spreadsheet using the stop loss and take profit rules you have posted above, re the 15min signal change, or just discretionary scalping re the take profit (tp,) or a mixture of both?
2. If the tp is when the 15min signal changes to an opposite buy or sell, then would this not make you 'always in the market' potentially if you act at that new opposite signal by both closing the existing trade on take profit and open a new trade based ion the signal? If this is not the case there may be some merit in exploring such an 'always in the market' methodology if an EA were to be developed.

Your observations are useful and interesting and I wonder whether a 1:1 risk:reward may work better on pairings/instruments that have thus far per your spreadsheet shown a 50% (+) winning strike rate? Certainly, it makes sense to trade this in the most liquid/volatile hours which is essentially when the Uk, then the U.s equities, and other markets, are open as well as the 24hr/day forex market.

As you may remember, before I went away, I was monitoring this for a few days in real-time on gbpusd only and had seen 15 out of 16 winning trades ratio on the 15min signal during those hours on gbpusd only.

I look forward to seeing this thread develop, and I hope to continue contributing to it.
Intraday (mainly) swing scalper (+,) via a Supp/Res & PA based edge.

Hi Headland

Great to have you back! That thread has completely changed into something else. Regarding your questions...

  1. Tried sticking religiously to the SL and TP rules.
  2. I mentioned 2 ways this could be traded... either open / close as a new signal appears (always in the market) or scalp for 5 - 10 pips. If you scalp and trade closes in profit or loss, just wait for the next signal. I've actually been scalping, but closing an open trade if a new signal appears - cut losses sooner.

We could start excluding pairs on the basis you recommended, however, I do think more forward testing is necessary to reach that conclusion. Highs, lows, retracements are common behaviours amongst all pairs... we might just be missing the right settings.

Now that we have lots of forward testing data... I'm simulating some tests on it. Here's what I have found... Making the SL the low (for longs) or the high (for shorts) of the previous M15 bar seems promising! Also capping the SL to 30 pips.

Combination of the SL rule mentioned in my previous sentence and 1:1 RR seems to yield better results.

Hope it does develop as it has a lot of potential, but needs some refinement to make it great! Looking forward to the contributions of the wiser and more experienced traders like yourself.

Yes... previous (the bar before the bar you open on) M15 bar high / low. Yes, 1:1 is more promising now.
