This is a mean reversion strategy, i.e. we buy SWING low and sell SWING high. Yes, sometimes the signal is delayed and other times it's earlier - however, it's a high probability setup - failures do happen and is part of the game! - BarN = Number of bars used to draw the Blue zigzag. If you trading the M15 timeframe, stick with 96 hours - that's a full day, don't need more than that unless you want to see historical data.
- Length = Number of bars used to search for swing highs and swing lows. Shorter length - more signals, longer length - fewer signals, but more reliable.
- Length2 = Same concept as length, except this is the value that gets used on a M1 chart only.
So in short, zigzag will be drawn for BarN bars, swing high and low will be determined by Length bars, but if it's a M1 chart it will be determined by Length2 bars. Stick with M15 timeframe... don't bother with the others, in my opinion.
This is not a double zigzag as some others have pointed out or shared earlier... again, complete lack of understanding. See below - we avoided an unnecessary trade with Length 10:
EURUSD - Length 6
EURUSD - Length 10
