now let's what had happened to the Boeing Company (BA) chart... the second one first picture displays how the actual diamond got developed eventually....

the second one shows the whole history of a single-diagonal diamond being developed on the BA charts and how it then reached its MOT (measured objective target) after exiting that formation... MOT was located at 102.10 level and had to be reached after the price exited that reversal diamond...

if to assume that DJI also will follow a similar scenario in the future , then we can expect to see a picture like the one posted below... of course that borders on the right part of the diamond are just projections now since we haven't seen those next waives developed yet... but this assumption should be more or less accurate in describing what has to happen with Dow in the near future... minimal MOT is 6470 level, but I think that it might go a bit lower to reach a technical support of supportive trendline... at the bottom I put a BA chart for comparison...

{quote} Hi Igor, These are interesting times indeed, do you think a reasonable estimated timeframe for the 29800 mark to be reached would be in around 8 - 9 months from now ?
Ignored
it now seems like we'll witness DJIA reaching 29800 level and perhaps even lower this month... the next down leg inside the potential diamond is likely to get fully developed by the end of summer...current historic high is going to be out of reach forever... we'll never see it again in our lifetimes... so far the market behaves exactly like I've expected...

P.S. the bottom of the next waive is likely to be between 22000 and 23500

Time flies so fast, almost three years, should I prepare anything for the next market?

Great to see you are still on the Markets Igor, I hope you are keeping well. It does appear to be another opportunity in the near term to ride the markets down or for the strictly long, get better buying opportunities. Do you have any thoughts on the Chinese markets during this downturn and how they might behave ? While they too might go down perhaps not as aggressively as the DJIA ?

On the DJIA, if it is to play it in this limited timeframe, that would mean a more dramatic fall than 2020 Feb, further / longer and sharper, I am wondering what tools would be left for banks and Government to mitigate this ?

Thanks for the insights and stay safe

thanks for caring... I'm pretty good so far... and the markets are quite obvious indeed...there are very strong signals at the moment to buy the buck across the board and to sell indices, especially the American ones... though I'm not following Chines markets and have no idea what's goin on there... my goal is only to make money but not to stick my nose in every possible financial hole across the world... and as you already know I don't care about fundamentals, never read and financial news as it has nothing to do with generating profits...

P.S. after reaching 22000-23500 levels DJI is likely to try to recover towards 32000 but this is going to be the last rising waive in near history...

on my opinion the world economy is likely to split into several separate economic zones after the crisis and at this moment it's even impossible to predict in which zone this or that country fall into... China is likely to have its own zone... though we still have some time before current economic model will fall apart completely... there are a few more years left, I guess...

Is that a Bust sculpture of Stalin ? I read somewhere that more recently the majority of Russians approved of him and remember him fondly, perhaps a hangover of order 227 "panic-makers and cowards are to be liquidated on the spot."

yep... that's Stalin's bust... looks like a Kremlin office of the 1930-th... I conduct regular webinars for my students every Saturday from a TV studio and chromakey technology allows us to make any background image and to change it at will... in regards to other issues I don't think that it makes sense to discuss it here... Western public in general is quite ignorant and I'm not in the mood to give them history lessons as well...

apparently it seems that the scenario I have described above is getting more and more plausible on a daily basis... will reach and test lower right diamond's border this year...
in LA I used to live in Woodland Hills near Topanga + Mulholland...

Ritzy, high end area....back in the early 90s, I got pulled over twice while driving my beat up Tredia around there.
I have a pending limit sell at 34000 just in case and will build it up as she dances around that price. Great analyses and keep it up!

Economic system is by definition chaotic and not linear and need support to stabilize by FED ECB and others. As we can observ without such regulators for sure collaps as it was in the past by different civilisations.

Hi @Igrok, I am not sure if you have looked into this question or not, but I will ask it anyway, how much would the markets "rules" ,that is those which must be formally abided by, regulators lawmakers etc, have to change in order that your current view on the market and beliefs around patterns etc would be invalidated ? You strike me as someone who probably has given this some thought and it would be interesting to hear from you what types of interventions could be considered in a panic ( I suppose closing the markets is one option) and how they might impact the playing out of the market(s).
