Be consistent and be willing to try out different strategies on Demo. You learn a lot from testing and eventually you will find what works for you.

I found scalping suitable to my personality.

I am hoping to become a successful trader. I am not looking to become rich but it would be nice to be able to make extra moolah. To those who doing that now please can you give some advice so that us struggling rookies can benefit from your experiences.

in short,
1. try everything and pick 1 that you like the best.
2. get good at it, and get REALLY good at it.
Underspeak, overdeliver.

Consistent hard work with a never give up attitude helped me to make profitable trades. And @ScalperGuru I agree with your point that every trader must have his own trading style and should not follow other traders.

Success doesn’t come overnight rather it’s a result of patience and perseverance. Traders should seek for the best option of trading for them. They should test their strategies whether they work well or not. They should get out of haphazard trading that cause them to fail.

I think this is the first sign that you don't belong in trading if you ignore demo accounts.

To meet success, try to keep practicing and try to innovate new and effective ideas on a daily basis. Update your trading planes on regular intervals. Don’t think about already-occurred losses again and again because it will break you down mentally. Adorn an effective plan to derive profits from the market.

focus on yourself and stop focusing on the social media traders. best this you can do for yourself once you have developed a trading style/trading plan setup. do it for 1 week/1month and let me know how you perform. Thoughts?

I'll tell you about my particular case of success... It was more than 7 years ago...
In December 2014 in four days I made $35,000 out of $1,000 by very simple method: every night I opened buy position on two pairs: USD/RUB, EUR/RUB, every morning, when trading on a particular market started, I closed these positions. In those days each trading session was opening with such an incredible growth, that the dealer simply could not set the rate unprofitable for my trades: such a fraud would be too obvious. During the day - sure, he could, but not from the very beginning of the trade. Thus, as long as the leverage allowed it, I managed to take advantage of the gap in the system. I guess this is the only way to make money on forex - not by the specific method described above, but by taking advantage of the current vulnerabilities of the system as a whole.
P. S.: Leaving my position opened for weekend, I finally lost 10,000 (only because of my own shortsightedness), but 24,000 left, and that, in my opinion, is not a bad weekly earnings too

Start trading is easy, master is extremely difficult and requires years of trying and failing. I think the first step is to set a realistic goal and progress forwarded slowly. we are talking about a marathon (more or less) here not a 100-meter charge.

Everyone is different so you have to do enough of your own research and work to find a good trading strategy and plan that works right for you. I would not necessarily recommend my trading strategy to others because I approach trades and view market movements different than most other traders...but hey, my approach works decent for me. Do your own testing and find what works well for you!

I believe that success always comes from stability. However, the stability I am talking about should not be confused with stubbornness. Sometimes you need to do scalping, and sometimes you have to be prepared for waiting processes that require a high degree of patience. In short, you have a baby (trading) whose mood is constantly changing, and always demanding attention.

Focusing on keeping your drawdown minimal is key. I think too many beginner traders obsess over PnL instead of focusing on keeping their losses small. You cant have the best of both worlds (High Return, Low Risk) or it will be short lived.

Consistency is the key to success, and when someone is motivated to succeed, they will try any constructive strategy that would help them get closer to their ultimate success. Trading requires constant patience to grow. I'm still working toward success and hope it comes soon to me.
