Disliked{quote} Hi cT, A busy morning for you I see When I think of the "difference" between the two, it is in this way. ==== A behaviour (market) is what the market may do long-term, as a whole, when it is shifting structure from one condition (or phase) to another, yet not repeating itself in exactly the same way each time it does this. === A pattern is (usually) a shorter-term formation of candles, often repeating itself with strikingly similar shapings. In case you ask, I do not utilise EITHER of these in my day to day scalp trading. However,...Ignored
When you label your chart with 'shoulders', 'neckline', 'head' etc, can you, TimeTells, do that in real-time or is that done in hindsight. Again -- no judgement. The reason I ask is because I primarily trade algorithmically and trades occur whenever the software generates signals. The software does not take into account market behavior or patterns. That is, the software trades what it sees in real-time. Of course, there is some magic sauce, but the magic sauce usually comes in the form of money management. The software doesn't take into account the view from 30,000 feet -- i.e. it trades at ground level.
PS: I should add that I am totally onboard with manual / discretionary trading. No question that a discretionary trader can crush an EA any time. But sometimes EAs
are good enough, and for me good enough is good enough -- if you know what I mean...
PPS: If you say you can do it in real-time then that is very interesting to me. It means I need to think more deeply in an attempt to add more "intelligence" to the software algorithms.
