You do sound like a teacher. You said something and no one knows what to do with it. What is your confirmation for a trade?Ignored
Disliked{quote} The Zilla I'm also running 1353, over 77,000 line of code for each EA, 28 pairs 28 charts, loads up every time. Doesn't help you but runs fine for me. Must be when editing the charts from notepad+, not something I do. M.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Okay, as you wish -- I challenge you -- make the video that proves MT4 is garbage. And be sure to include in the video the part where you edit the configuration files in between launches. And also show in the video what happens when you don't edit the configuration files. Better yet -- why don't you upload the before and after configuration files to this thread so others can check whether or not they can reproduce your observation. Or maybe someone will spot the typo or error you introduced when editing the configuration files. And if the...Ignored
Disliked{quote} HI Elm, Mate here’s the rub. If I say MY dynamic (ie NOT static) confirmations, where would that leave YOU next time a pending trade comes up. You require your OWN confirmations. You can find them, I am sure, they are out there. (And while I may sound like teacher I am NOT at all, sorry, I’m still learning. But I do put up charts as visuals.) Apologies cTIgnored
Disliked{quote} no need to do anything. i dont even have to stop the terminal/mt4. saving profile and loading it few times just kills all the eas. metaquotes neglects all that 6+ months already. you cant challenge me to nothing, as you dont know what day it is... take a nap. regroup. and find another topic or logical structure, as here you are running out of options...Ignored
Disliked{quote} are you suggesting that at the time of a sudden terminal/os/server/network/whatever technical crash, FULLY restoring the profile from a back up, is basically impossible? because of the timestamp only? seriously? is that much of a bad piece of crap this mt4 really is? because from 1340 till 1353, saving a profile and loding it, back and forth few times, completely kicks out all the eas from the charts they are on. just the eas. the indis stay on the their charts. for 6+ months or so, metaquotes DID NOTHING ABOUT...Ignored

Hi Mate and would you mnd sharing those 'dynamic confirmations'? These could be breaking the high if not within the first 5 minutens of the hourly candle open or whatever.. which would make it a breakout scalp and we would understand the trade.. I hope you understand the usefulness of this information. Without it it's just another chart.. anything can happen. Only 'Time tells'Ignored

Disliked{quote}- for example look at the GJ mentioned - the market is now back at 156.160 after BOTH an up and down run. And unless a trader got in/out early then I see it as BOTH buyers & sellers are NOW caught in the current rotational ranging around that line. Though a 10 pip win OR loss would have seen any frustrated trader OUT of this current move already and just watching again).Ignored
Disliked{quote} Hahaa, yes Elm, time tells for all of us, everywhere, for sure. Mate I have put myself in an awkward situation now, as this thread is by cT. He is determining whether one of two things happens to facilitate that the majority of forex traders seem to end up losing. One idea is that 'forex education is misleading' and in my own way I agree with cT's premise on that. The other is that every (losing) trader is stupid, of which I do not agree. At all. So it would be foolish for me to put myself (and yourself) in a situation where, what I write,...Ignored
Disliked{quote} How about going for MT5? Nevertheless I'm sure you can debug this stuff to find the culprit? Does it happend when you load the profile without EA's.. Is it a certain EA or indicator.. Loads of logging might help..? Anything I can try to help you with this?Ignored
DislikedThe entire industry from top to bottom is as straight as a 9 bob note. In the old days they used to say "It takes 50K to learn the market." Now they said "You can make money with minimal effort while you sleep trading the forex." 200 million traders with constantly blown up accounts want all the benefits without paying their dues. And they're always wondering wtf happend! So take the 200 million who don't want to study, give em a nice calendar and tell them these people talking on tv telling how historical idealized data releases might effect the...Ignored
DislikedMost of the education talk here seems to be centered on "market structure" -- I'm not sure exactly what that means or how you trade that. I used to spend a lot of time focused on Entry and Exit signals generated by different algorithms, filters, patterns, etc. But what seems to missing from this discussion is money management -- educating ourselves and others about that poorly understood and unsexy aspect of trading. I think money management is the magic sauce -- what to do when you lose (or win) a trade and how that will influence the next trade...Ignored
Disliked{quote} I offered to check your configuration file if you uploaded both the before version (the one created by MT4) and the after version (the one edited by you). Are you too embarrassed to take me up on that? What have you got to lose? Are you afraid I might find the error? MoneyZilla -- you really don't want to solve the problem, do you? You prefer to play the blame game...Ignored
