Very tough week. At one point -66% on previous week. Often on the wrong side.
In the end, closed the week -0.5% (on equity)...
Like a fool I didn't know of the earlier close (IC Markets closed 3 hours early!!) and have 19% of the account long @1.1336 or 48 PiPs in the green, but with tight SL 1.1373 that I now have to hope won't be taken when market reopens on Monday, with super wide spread or even before actual mkt close!?
A stupid mistake that could cost me dearly.
Another reason I don't like my broker. Global Prime is operational. ActivTrades also should be.
Update. Market closed. All my stop prices overrun. Let's see where it opens on Monday. If those frakking part time brokers hadn't closed I could have handled it better; part TP once seen no new high and part SL moved well below.
Do not go with IC Markets:

- No e-mail notice of them working part time.
- Once a month the data feed locks for a few minutes.
- The support chat is worthless.
- It will end up costing you money and mind.

I will not lie, this year has been rough, and in too many ways. But I am still smiling even when the smile isn't there, and that ends up helping me, but most importantly, it helps my loved ones. And I am still dancing, but a chill dance, a sweet reminder that, no matter what, things could be worst. Hope you are with me ! So, my dear friends, let's continue, throughout 2022, to dance, to hug, no matter what; let's trade dance and trade love yaaaa

As for my trading adventures : After my last important "reaching for the sky but not reaching it but reaching good gold anyhow"
adventure(see below), I have been only scalping and intraday trading both ways, waiting for anything new to happen, for the month-long range to be seemingly broken, for below 1280 to become proper resistance, or an significant weekly pullback to happen(perhaps this last day of the year bulls run was a first one since beginning of this down trend?!).
So yes, starting next week, since a weekly pullback could be in the works at last, I will be working mostly on shorting long-term again, following the trend. BUT, as long as we are above 1280, after such sustained support, and in the monthly ranges lows, I am looking for longs just as much!
Because my 8h setups conditions could not be confirmed, I have had to step out of my long term shorts, closing 21 trades in profit(maybe 6 or 7 I live shared), minus two, at 1258, here shared important closing mention with detail:

Nope my friend, it's much more complicated than that, and I have done my best to share all I could about it, and am really sorry if it was not enough, even if I share live, about what and why I do what I do; alas, sharing is never perfect... But if it helps, in that particular instance you quote: I had removed SL and TP only because it is done automatically when I hedge and, in this instance, I hedged because I had 31 different short positions from a whileeeeee
, each having their own settings, so the best for me when Omicron potential black swans signs appeared was to hedge and wait. Note that I only had to hedge 8 times in 2021... This quarter, only 3 times, and the 3 times came out as being advantageous to me at time of trades closed and DD was left than 1/2 of return. See post quote above about the corresponding live shared trades being closed... Other hedging years of that magnitude on my trading were 2008, 2010, 2014 and 2020. So it is rare, but is always a better solution on the long run for me, in these circumstances.
Also, on another note, and as I have repeated throughout my posts, almost all my SL and TP are dynamic and change depending on what happens After entry; sometimes it ends well, sometimes not... It is dependent on how price moves after entry.

Boy, what a year. Again, I thought it would be my last trading year. My body is not an ea, alas... But no, I will continue trading in 2022, and happily, AND with discipline of STEEL, and with continuous laughter (helps keep the stress down and attention and reflex and mind overall sharper) !

... Now, this important level for me is moved down, now at 1256. This will be my most watch price for the rest of the week; the second being 1330s. AND if 1256 is touched by a 8h cdl that does not close below it, I will exit all my shorts and call it a year. If 1256 is not even touched before bulls attack 1350s, bulls will actually have built up some interesting momentum on that scale, and only some wild longer-term volatility war would probably be needed for the bears to be saved.... {image}
