Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. It's a long journey I put myself through. Constantly in the lab, looking for bigger, faster, and stronger...LOL.

I love following Harold and his strategies, but I never seem to get them just right, and in the end, I get frustrated. I've been using range bars for a few months now. I finally settled on 24 tick bars. The range bar where there is a new bar when ticks are met and open = close. I then add a 20 and 51 weighted ma and a 24 Hull MA. If you see it, the entries will be pretty obvious. There are a couple of more aggressive entries I use too, like engulfing bars after a pullback, which has to be in direction of the microtrend, as defined by the slope of the Hull. I have it set to change colors based on slope. Obviously, discretion is the better part of valor, and i do not take everything that meets those parameters.

I also like these set ups on the 51 WMA. I call them sandwiches.

I have not taken a trade today due to volume and speed from the contract expiration (and the Fed announcing 3 rate hikes next year has to be playing a part). I should have though. The momentum is awesome.

..the IB long set up but decided not to trade, key levels (settlement, London open, the RN) in the way of the 150% extension target.

4 wins, 5 b/e, 2 losses - like you, finding the latest version a bit easier to spot in realtime - several that i shouldn't perhaps have taken but ok for a 1st session.

I have been trading NQ exclusively for the past few months and have found the opening 30 second range to be very important. It is like a line in the sand. If you watch it you will see that price either runs away from this range or plays around this range all day - like a second point of control.

I have not done a statistical analysis of this but just playing momentum breaks of the 30 second range seems like a profitable proposition with proper risk management.

512 tick chart. The break of the 30 second range occurred at 9:30:30 EST. By 9:39:36 price had dropped approximately 70 points.

good stuff. lots of rotation happening. looked in a bit late, missed a couple of "greed" trades at first, picked up 9T long on one mini es
