my own adaptation now is trading in percentage form, not worrying about pips.
putting TP as 1, 2 ........% of equity.
now and then there will be some left over to catch the trend.

interesting your view.

i try (optimally) to split my positions in 3 parts.

first TP is between 3-5 pips (it gives me confidence and a bit in the pocket)
second TP 1:2 risk/reward
third TP a runner, the next important level.

and after every level of TP is reached i adjust my stops.

for example, it is not practical to get 1% on a daily basis as one can lose in some day, some week.
probably less stressful to get 5% per week or 20% per month on averaging basis.

yes, the belief that i can win every day has cost me a lot of money. it is an unrealistic benchmark-for me.

I concentrate also more on the weekly results, and the percentage data is more important to me than the pips.
