It was a very mean drop. Shame on you, bears!
Nonetheless, I guess price is going to recover and more.
Even though I know most of you guys are "technical analysts" or perhaps just going with the mainstream that worships technical analysis... still I believe most of you simply don't ignore important economic data release, events and scheduled statements.
Because we all know they can trigger substantial price moves from time to time.
And I sense the US data and statements are going to be a misery for the rest of the week.
Which makes me believe we are closely ahead of a proper bullish trend resumption.
I know this is everything but a technical analysis. Probably because I am emotional.

Based on M15 I have 1.18675 as nearest resistance and optimum sell level... Will it get there? I don't know..

I share that feeling mate. I am also fearing it for my longs though. One thing is certain, I've got my worst to best case scenarios plans prepared for not only todays big possible moves, but Fridays biggggg news reactionss also, no feelings involved.

And my 61 switched down thanks to 1h close! Not necessarily good... But did move my last buy stop to 1.18575. now can rest, lay back and watch the show, or....

What leads you to believe EU numbers are going to be better that US'. I'm completely clueless about the subject so, honest question.

I won't speak for anyone but myself. When I place trades I have a technical reason and sometimes that is backed up by "emotional" or as I prefer to say "directional bias"

Personally I have a "short bias" for this week based upon my belief in correlation between EU and the US stock market.

It is my belief that in the month of August there will be a 8-10% correction in the stock market based on history (occurred in 9 of past 12 years).

So when I see a spike down like we had at 4:00 am today I am waiting for the 50% re-tracement for a sales entry to short EU.

Some of the best traders have been known to just "feel" the pulse of the market but for me I need RULES in order to be profitable LONG TERM.

For now and based on H4, it seems to be the best to keep selling 1.1858/66 area..

*No matter where you sell, stops would go at least a little above 1.1873 or higher...

I actually don't think that EU numbers can ever be better than US numbers. Euro is a political monetary project that needs to prove how vital the European integration process can be. It cannot fail otherwise the integrity of the EU would be at stake.
I just believe some of the issues the US are facing may already be seen in numbers. Such as fears related to another covid wave, overwhelming governmental spending etc. All part of the greater plan.
US net exports have been dropping all year long. Who wants stronger dollar in the US, then?
Or do you believe that money is nothing more than commodity?

Still waiting.. can't sell while M15 candles spike or open way above 1.1866... Zzzzz...

*Based on H4, a candle close above 1.1870 can switch trend back to bullish..

Beautiful numbers! Did not even need any of my planned protection thanks to those! Best case scenario! Moved all under 59 positions at BE now. TP as usual for my initially 1840s stops positions , TP open, but no less than in the 1920s.

For now I put a pending scalper sell at 1.1890... Stops only 12 pips or so.. Don't risk big!
