Could you please go into more detail about how you read market structure?

I know how you use the moving average and the higher time frame but the most important thing is structure i Have seen many of your charts posted and many times you dont even use a moving average.

The thing is that depending how you read market structure everything changes, I use to help me the zig zag indicator and just by changing the parameters you have different types of structure for example if you use the standard setting 12 you will have bigger swings and if you use 6 or a lower number than 12 you will see microstructure.

Maybe you dont look at swings that way and you look for fractals or just price pattern were the low on the previous bar is higher and on the next bar is also higher and you have a pivot to work from.

I dont know if you even use a set of parameters to define swings. Please let us know so everything is more clear or i can find a better way. At the end by what you say what is important is market structure

Market Structure is based on the four phases.

Everytime there is a range spoted, it can be a CTT (correction through time), wich often is a continuation pattern, or
Distribution/Accumulation.

When Market is trending up, Markup Phase is present. When is trending down, Decline Phase is present.

When Markup Phase momentum wane, there will be one of the two situations:
1) CTT
2) Phase 3 Distribution

Both situations are similary with the only difference that on Distribution Phase sellers become aggresive with their supply. This is viewed as tentatives of downside breakout of most recents Higher Lows but failed, followed by small rallies upside with lack of momentum and fail again
to break in a sustained move above previous Higher Highs.
Finally, you know there was a Distribution only AFTER you see valid breakout with momentum downside. Anticipating the valid breakout is the key and one of the easiest ways is the technique with the Moving Averages.

On CTT, there are no tentatives of breakout downside only tentatives for breakout upside. CTT are great for scalpers wich are searching momentum "hit and run"

Moving Average is like the little tires from your bike wich help you until you learn maintain control.
Last you take away these little tires.

I use the 50 for everything I think it's so powerful. Then sometimes I use a 3/50 cross to give me a direction

.. for those who not got what said in past and do not believe moving average can help, i post my bitcoin example. Moving averages can help alot, if you not ready to read it without some help.
You can stay in game only if you go out of a bad trade as early you can and let a good trade run as far as it make sense after your picked system.

Sorry for all who want blame moving averages, learn to trade or ignore them.

Gap filled as you can see. In M1 we have strong momentum, Price short touch the slow moving average, before explode to fill the gap.
