Disliked{quote} Hey mtako, is this all rule based? If yes may I ask how you specified the prticular parametets for this rule? I mean stop loss 2 ticks below the low of the hour looks highly parameterized if it is purely rule based, so you must have screened the parameter space somehow.Ignored
Yes, all rule based. All my strats are 100% mechanical and dynamic. It might not seem so here because I cannot update enough and cannot share but a fraction of what I do...
I really like your questions Nic.
I feel you wont like my answer here though, because it will be just the surface as it would just be too long... But really hope this helps anyhow :
In short, I use this one only with certain TFs, strong enough dynamic levels, certain strategies, and under certain conditions, where the average gain if positions survives > loss attributed to the extra ticks, a good enough chance of price going against the trade, then to simply nudge the SL, perhaps for a tick, and reverse. I know it sounds crazy, but Ive been using it for years and its mindboggling the number of times it actually happens, and my position is saved and goes in profit.
I just as often use a candle close, open, or two candles straight breakout, time above/under such level, and more. as stop losses, TPs, and entries. Does make a decent difference on the long-term, as CRAZY
Update on my last long in 11m, if not Stopped out.
P.S Here is something even crazier
As many ways to gain as there are to lose.
Update on my last long in 18m, if not Stopped out.
If I don't mention SL and/or TP = longer-term setup possibly in the works!
