Disliked{quote} Sure, we are in a nice channel, see chart in my post above. If you would have started on the 5th of April you would be lost now.Ignored
DislikedI put some codes in Icarus_2.2 such that the working time of Icarus can be restricted. Icarus works only at the the working time you set. If not in the working time, it won't open or close any orders, also no trailing stop. It just sleep. When it wakes up, it takes care the orders as it usually does. I run back test of the EA only on London and New York sessions, the results seem not bad. You should use your MT4 server time to set the time values. {image} {file} {file}Ignored

Disliked{quote} So at the end of the day, TIMING is important. EA can't decide when to enter. So EA has to be given rules to define what is good time to enter. Financial trading is random . Either your brain or EA has to decide on the timing of entry. Blind grids don't work in spot or futures. EA can help execute and manage trades. If EA has to decide on timing, then EA has to be fed with rules on how to locate such times. Blind grids work in directionless options selling which requires deep pockets. Unless you or EA is sure that retracement or pullback...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Hi Simnz, welcome on this thread, I like your thoughts you are adding here...Bring it on...CheersIgnored
Disliked{quote} Be careful, owing to the fact that as Icarus is in sleeping, it won't perform any profit lock and stop loss control. Perhaps you should set SL to those un-closed orders by hand to secure your account.Ignored
Disliked{quote} If you can put another condition of changing the TP or SL in one go for all losing positions by pips, (after profit has been locked or all profit realized), it will be helpful in controlling the loss of opposite trades in drawdown. Basically some kind of a drawdown controller.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Icarus does not have real TP or SL for each position. They cannot be changed, because they are not exist.Ignored
Disliked{quote} I have a similar EA for random trading. You can see how the timing was for trend trending and pullback hand in hand. Grid trading with martingale etc. has never worked for me. So I started focussing on timing with speed by pip size and volume, TP and SL so that the probable range selected is such that it could work in both directions before continuing the trending direction. That is what it happened. It was a combination of speed, volume and timing and realistic profit targets. The 8 trades took just less than 30 minutes...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Just let me know where and how to put your control in Icarus. Please refer to my another post #Post 351. Icarus does account risk control by the difference of Account balance and equity. It calculate total profits of Buy and Sell cycles. When the profit lock is hit. it closes all buys or sells in profit. When the last order of Buy or Sell cycle reach its SL, it open another order with lots progressively.Ignored
