DislikedI am not a too big fan in use stochastic, if compared with RSI, usually stochastic giving more OB and OS zone, but if combining with short EMA, maybe its useful to get better signal confirmation, in general, disadvantage leading indicator is giving a more false signal.Ignored
Indeed, stochastic can offer quite a few false signals. The settings (100,3,3) given buy Ryu are interesting though if you stick to buying and selling in oversold and overbought areas. Also I've found that using both stochastic and MACD or a with a simple 5 EMA on the 1H chart or even lower has helped me filter stochastic's bad signals and ride the more important moves. I've used RSI in the past and my only problem was the single line, I never knew if and when RSI was going to turn on me but maybe I wasn't using it right. Are you using it?
