I use expert on mt4 tester, but the buttons can't be used here. Is there a solution for this?

Yes and no...
Like many grid traders, it earns most (fastest) in an oscillating environment. It hates long stable trends without reversals. This osciallation you saw might be more e.g. Monday/Tuesday between London open and NY open, just an example. But it would need profound statistical analysis over years to proof end evaluate.
And remember: Murphy is alive and shit happens. Black swans like to eat your statistics.

No, in the tester only the automatic works, to check the buttons you need to do so on demo account...

Hi ursinho, you absolutly nailed it...When trying to gain aggressive performance with a grid you always dance between doomsday drawdown and %heaven On the market we call balck swans so, because they are super rare. So we should know they can show up, but not care to much because it is unlikely, they will do so...

But, as a warning, I personal saw a black swan 2 years ago... Cheers

so i loaded the ea on eu m5, but there is no test on six of the buttons.

The first account disappeared immediately.
It seems that it is necessary to prepare a large amount of funds, widen the entry interval, or increase the number of entries.
With the current settings, the start and end entries are only about 60 pips apart.
Is there a guideline for the amount of funds when starting 0.01 lots?

Hi fabio, as per the thread starters 1st page they only become available when a cycle has reached the maximum number of positions you put in max position settings (will turn yellow) & and also when the equity drawdown is higher than the % you put under equity warning.(will turn red).

Hey,

I am trading on MT4 and do not have plans to change to MT5 soon.

But again, I am not able to code MQL, I am a trader and a gridlover. So if we have a coder here who wants to code Ikarus on MT5, you are welcome...

But I would suggest to wait a little bit here, please remember my goal with this thread is 1) to give back to this forum 2) to develop ideas and to improve the version with the support of coders within this forum.

I will post my first ideas for improvement on Friday...

Hey, you have to test those buttons on demoaccount. The alerts will be activated also in BT, but obv. you can not manual hit buttons in a backtest. The 6 buttons you have mentioned will only be activated in yellow and red alert (I have plans to change this in the new version).

Hi. This is highly linked to the account type you are using and the settings you are using. I posted the settings I was using before, but you never will here me say: Those are the best settings...Reason behind: Out of my experience you will only have a chance to trade this successful, when you run your own BT and find the settings which are matching you account type, your broker and your risk appetite.

Yep, EA is saving time when on trading, but believe me, you need to invest this time in Backtesting, Visual Backtesting and Fronttestig on a demoaccount...This will give you the starting point for earning money with such systems like Ikarus.

I thank you, I was quite sure I find some interest for this project here, but after 9 days being active in this thread you all make me super exited for the things we can do here...I try to answer as fast as possible, but sometimes I am busy with other things and sometimes I need some sleep, so if it takes me a while to answer please excuse me

Be careful friends, I d hate to see another friend lose his house because of grid trading.

My 2 cents :

add inputs for day of the week, hours and minutes, and optimize. Trust me, you "ll thank me if you do.

add 2 best MAs and you trade the grid only when price is between(again, found through optimization) per pair, meaning that you wont be using the same for eusd and eujpy, etc. each its own params. each has its own BEST 2 MAs to trade between.

add x amount of seconds forward input for timed expiration (closing) of trade

switch to mt5 for the vastly superior optimization.

If you do all that, you might just lose your car, joking ! Cheers all and good luck and work hard!

I use a very similiar own EA in combination with a dashboard. Semi-automatic eveything. Using a global variable (in MT4 it is difficult to control other EAs by an EA) to allow/forbid trading. Adjust the grids manually depending on the changing situation (Fibo lines).
