Thanks. Yea, I didn't either and never trade it but it is available on FTMO so I thought I'd give it a try. Good thing I took profit before bedtime because it rocketed up to the moon after I closed the trade. Super volatile instrument.

As a huge fan of mixed martial arts and the UFC, congrats to Jan Blachowicz, the beast with the Polish power! He retained his light heavyweight belt last night verse Israel Adesanya, the "style bender" and one of the best technical strikers/kickboxers on the planet. Israel was 20-0 and the reigning middleweight champion and stepped up in weight class to try and win a belt in 2 weight classes. Not an easy task. Jan is a beast with explosive power in his hands. A humble and classy man.

The only reason I posted this is that it highlights the attributes it takes to be a successful trader. You need to be disciplined and dedicated to a daily regimen. Training your body, mind, soul, and spirit for the daily battle. Prioritizing family life and responsibilities. Eating and sleeping right. Taking responsibility for your failures. Planning the trade and trading the plan, and so forth.

We booked about 6 pips profit here. The benefit of being awake during trades allows for micromanagement. Had I been asleep, the stop wouldn't have been moved to BE and this would have ended up as a full loss. Going to bed soon so we will replace our hard stops with trailing stops.

We are life again with a manual entry riding the good side of this fractal line up.

It seems trail stop is not working on our EA, BE ok. Or I am wrong?

I see your trading style only with trend exactly match second type of trade I posted earlier.
So You can use theorytically 10% ADR SL all the time.

Interesting concept. I tend to look at how much power it takes, or how long price has to go to reach the line. If the line is very steep angle and price has to go a long way to get to the line I will use a smaller stop loss. In general, I now have been using smaller stop losses, especially for M30 setups.

Example: Price here still has about 140 pips to reach the line and has been as much as 200 pips below the line so if I use 30% of 20ADR for the H4 timeframe I get a stop loss of 40 pips. For me, that is too big of a stop. If price moves 140 more pips to get to this steep line then I think theoretically it should run out of energy before a 40 pip stop loss is hit. I hope that makes sense.

But in any event, I think each trade is unique and each trader should have a unique way of setting and managing their trade. However, it is good to know what everyone is thinking. We all learn and grow when we consider other ideas.

This line has an angle over 61 degrees. That's very steep!! Imagine hiking a mountain with this angle and then reaching the top. You would probably have no energy left when you reached the top. But maybe if the hike was only 30 degrees you could still go farther when you reached the top. (bigger stop needed)

I entered manually on last night's trades so I set my trailing stops manually from the Meta4 platform but from my demo testing, the EA trailing stop function worked fine.

Note: The trailing stop does not activate until you are in profit that is the same size as the trailing stop.

For example: If you set your TS = 10 pips then the EA won't do anything or show up on your chart until you are in profit of 10 pips. When you hit 10 pips profit the trailing stop will appear 10 pips from that price level and will either stay at that level if your trade starts to move against you or it will move with your trade if it continues with more profit, always staying 10 pips from the latest price.

Also, note that if you set your BE=0 and your TS=10 then as soon as the trade is activated the EA will automatically initiate the TS at 10 pips.

EDIT: I just did some more demo testing and this is weird. When I did a buy with SL=20 AND TS=10 when the trade activated the SL instantly set at 20 pips on the chart as it should, but when I did a sell the TS apparently took precedence, and when the trade activated, there was no SL at 20 pips but only a TS at 10 pips.

I think I'm going to ask someone in the platform tech thread to see if they can modify this EA. Maybe make the trendline description shorter and check into this TS thing.
