Gren9696, You apparently want to modify system to suit yourself, which is fine with me. But at same time I am happy with system as is, it works for me. I didn't start this thread to hand out trades/signals, but to teach people how to do that for themselves. I have had tons of offers to go commercial with trading rooms and signal services and always passed on it. You want to trade I suggest you learn how to so. It took me four years and 50k in blown accounts to become profitable. Since then I've always made money and not by just using 1 system, I...

Seems you have watched VP's Videos.

You are right it's VP Financial on You Tube or No Nonsense Forex. I have watched some of these Videos maybe 6 or 7. I learned not much except a new way to use WPR which is how I use it with this system. Otherwise a lot of BS, except for client sentiment data maybe. Basically he's saying if sentiment at a given moment is E/U long by traders then look for a short. etc. Basically he says left if everyone says right, contrarian.

Hi Rockypoint,
Followed and still use you previous system with the cloud and awesome oscillator and been dropping in on this thread to see what you're up to. My question is how do you determine what is meaningful past support and resistance ie number of times price tested, time past since price tested, how long it stays at a certain price etc.
Many thanks

No trading for me today started a little late 7:30, but just very flat market today. 4hr, 1hr and 15min reading on power indicator show all currencies flat 4hr biggest mover less than 8 pips, 1hr less than 6 pips, 15 min. 2 pips. Some days market is just not there for trading. Were there some trades that would've worked absolutely but just not kind of PA I like to trade.

Goyatrade, trades were fine. Just not kind of PA I like to trade too jumpy. Trading for me is very visual, this is a pair I would've avoided. But I believe you said you were going to concentrate on the G/U. Just remember that there are days its OK not to trade.

Hi ALcol, It's been a long time, glad you are still using the Ichimoku system, hopefully profitably.

As far as S/R pretty much like I always thought of it, since I day trade my only concern is last few hours. Obviously areas where price sticks 2 or more times is significant. But you also know I love to see price move in a tight range to trade breakouts. Generally not going to look back more than 8 hours.

Let me know how you are doing with Ichimoku, still using range bars?

Got up early for a change made a bunch of trades. GBP was the mover today on bullish side also USD(though considerably less strong). I traded all my usual GBP pairs all winners except G/U(small loss, dumb trade, you tell me why) also N/U and Dow, S & P nice wins. Nasdaq was a hot mess so stayed away. Stayed out of other USD pairs because had enough going on, but there was money to be made on some of those pairs also. Everything was basically join the trend trades.

Hi RP, I took this GU trade this morning, but got out with 12pip profit because market being restless!! Sterling was probably waiting for the news??
Coming to your GU trade (tellmewhy). Other than getting in fairly late, you should've gotten out when the W% went below 50??? Right??
Have a nice day!!

G'day Rockypoint,
Have become more profitable as times go on. Mainly I think due to being able to read the price action better and not so much the system you use. I see so many similarities in your trades on this forum when compared to the other, ie price consolidation and looking for breakouts, keeping an eye out for divergence, don't trade choppy charts, recent support /resistance etc. The system acts more like a refinement as to where you enter and exit after you have chosen your tradeable charts. This is something you have tried to drive home consistently in all your comments. The concepts are simple but to make them engrained into your trading and being aware, I believe is the hard part(comes with repetition and practice). Have started to play with 5 minute charts as you use here. It slows things down as compared to using range bars(think you mentioned that here on this forum). Not in your class yet as far as traders go, but you are a damm inspiration to keep at it.

Cheers

Hi Alcol correct PA is by far the primary concern, Indicators there to provide a little reinforcement to your decision making. Choosing the charts is for me as you said very visual. I have no comfort in trading choppy looking charts, which makes decision making harder. Glad to hear you are getting more profitable it sounds like you have a good grip on what I've tried to teach. All the best.

Goyatrade is right check those posts for my index system, looking for price to close outside of Keltner Channel on volume of course with WPR crossing -50 line and MACD cross over.

what time of the day do you normally trade ? I am trying to pick a time between London open and New York open . I naturally am always awake by 4 or 5 am eastern time but i figure the London moves have already happened and it's too early for New York. Does any of that really matter though because it seems you just trade if the price action and charts look ideal regardless of the time.

I try to start trading by 6am my time which would be 8am est, but I've been getting up later lately starting at 8:30-9:30 est. Think anywhere from 7am to 9:30am should work. as far as the latter part of London session you can try to trade profit taking on some of the trending pairs, you can also do that in NY session starting around 1-2 pm. Hope that helps
