Edit- ECB querying dollar weakness despite strong economy

Congrats all who caught the move down.. I was waiting for R1 a couple pips higher so didn't quite hit my bid

More waiting (maybe scalper shorting 1.21555 or scalper buying 1.21325 area) as a result of a choppy day.. Time will tell..

Was that just a ridiculously huge stop hunt? what was that? I expected a pullback to 1.21497 but that just shattered through hard. I'm long SL break even 1.21477 , first long got stopped immedaitely

I'm long here, this will either fly super high up or drop super damn low. I expected price to come to 1.21019 yesterday and it didn't so I honestly gave that number up, but if my long here breaks and we close below 1.21497 , I will be happy to enter long at a better price

Yea, Lagarde did say nothing was off the table controlling the Euro strength- deflation is becoming a problem for them. Wouldn't be surprised by a rate cut or an expansion of ECB asset purchases to bring yields down

Basically the Fed are doing asset purchases/QE at a faster rate than the ECB.. the ECB just need to catch up if they want to bring the Euro down, carping about it wont help

Kinda thinking- ECB should be blaming governments for imposing lockdowns on their citizens, low inflation in Europe is a demand problem- who's spending when they're under house arrest and losing their jobs because they've been shut down- blaming the Fed is pointless.

I don't understand their statement, can anyone explain what that means? It won't change my trading bias but I have no idea what the news means

The ECB wants to keep the euro weak, but there is not much they can do. Usually more QE = weaker currency, but I reckon in this post recession regime even more QE would not help to weaken the euro sustainably as central banks and investors reallocate their capital out of the US. The ECB would have to lower rates further but they cannot because banking would collapse. Or they would have to directly intervene in the currency market but they cannot because it is not their mandate.

Easy answer: because not every day at LC the entry parameters for this fast strategy are met. Today was just another (very) good example. I posted the link to the rules and if you look at the brown rectangle in my post above: Bingooo!
