Why does the GBP / JPY continue to rise when conditions in Britain are bad and are supposed to push it down, helped by the Japanese rivals in better conditions than it?

The Yen is falling against the Pound.

Why?

Which economy has the potential to grow faster?

Which GDP is growing faster?

One of those countries has no natural resources, does this help or hurt?

Some would say UK are well ahead in the vaccincation program, with furlough should be able to deal with the slump in the economy

also BOE bailey yesterday put a damper on negative rates which was really the driver in the GBP move yesterday ... i think the market had already priced in a rate cut...

Most traders look for 80 to 100% winning strategy. But this type of strategy doesn't exit. Even a small consistent percentage can bring you a fortune in trading. We should focus on consistency.

Because there's more buying pressure than selling pressure for the Pound at the moment, and the opposite's true of the Yen.

No. That's not relevant. (Look at South Africa's natural resources and at the state of its economy).

Of course, the focus should be on fundamental news. Trading should be done with a combination of fundamental and technical.

Due to the new Covid, Britain's condition seems bad, but the GBP/JPY continues to rise when it is supposed to be going down? Are the Japanese rivals in a better condition?

market does not care about covid cases (look at us markets) , market believes vaccine +lockdown will do the trick

I think traders should never try to earn money quickly from this risky and volatile market. It can put them in great danger.

Conditions and happenings in a country don’t necessarily correspond with how a currency moves. It’s important to keep in mind what moves currency. While economic conditions do certainly play a role, in most cases it’s the major banks and global investors that determine how a currency pair will move. Just because market conditions in Briton are more volatile and in Japan they are more stable, it doesn’t mean the JPY will necessarily gain value against the GBP.
