AltosTrader. Thank you. I looked at and the first indicator will not open (coding probably outdated) and the second is a zigzag as far as I can see. Not useful to me unfortunately, but thank you. More comment: The take profit at the middle line is not cast in stone. When you see an acceptable profit at a S n R level, close it and take your profit and run! I closed EUR USD and USD CHF manually early this morning before it reached the middle line. I am at around 35% profit for the month now and DD about 3%. Please remember that the lines repaint all...

Ah yes, that thread goes back to 2007 but it is still going and a bunch of coders frequent it afaik. I have not perused it in a long time though.

On the TMA - yes, I am happy to stack orders and even front run them on a trend - and also to bail or hedge as desired. I also use CCI for divergence which more often than not gives me advance notice of turning points, even on the 4H. I am using a CCI 8 - that is a good compromise speed to catch divegence. It does take a bit of getting used to to see it automatically but some practice makes it second nature. I'll attach my usual indi here, it has a second confirm by using an MA in the CCI - have a play if you wish. I am not actually trading at the moment, I have set it all up and will get to it but am some 13 years older and don't really need the cash. :-) It is mostly fun and interest for me.

Looks right, TP middle line. Order stacking at about 40 pips apart. I'm also in of course.

A request for the settings of the TMA lines was received and here goes (I hope I'm clearer than before

First TMA: ATR multiplier 2.0; ATR period 500; show centerline "true"; all other settings default.
Second TMA: ATR multiplier 3.0; ATR period 500; all other settings default.
Third TMA: ATR multiplier 4.0; ATR period 500; all other settings default.

The first one should be made bold and different colors so as to be clearly visible.

The distance in pips between the first and second line must be used as a constant for the stacking of future limit orders.

I hope I did better this time.

Hi Barry,
tnx for the info, I manage to set up a chart. You said up to 5 times we can enter like this, did it happened that you hit more than 5 times during your trading? And also, do you trade purely mechanically, you said use head and experience so the combination of both I suppose , for example, AUDUSD everyone can say the trend is up, so do you, in this case, can say better look for buy orders...
One more thing, working with all 28 pairs, you did not catch any slow down of pc?
All the best

Yes I have had more than 5, 6 to be exact.
I trade mechanically mostly for entries, but some exits I close when the profit stalls or it looks like a turn around. or a S n R zone.
I keep an entry top and bottom at all times. In an uptrend like you see in the AUD, a news event might make a big move or spike and pick up a trade that way.
With 28 pairs on 4hr charts, the slow down if any should not be a problem. I do not have any problem. I only go my pc when I feel like it every two hours or so to check and leave it alone during the night to do what has to happen. I am only active from 3GMT to5-6GMT. The rest is my own time. I don't have square eyes anymore!

Also, the way you have your limits placed on every line is how I do it too. Just remember not move them with the line after the first order takes. Then the gap between the limits become the stack order spacing and TP moves with the center line.

Correct, and if a further order is needed, place it at the SAME PIP VALUE DIFFERENCE like between the previous ones.

Thanks for helping us so much Al: here's a gold trade that hit my tp at S1 as shown on the attached. This stuff works when the markets are moving and care is required the rest of the time to stay out...hard to do. I am pleased overlaying the TMAslope indicator over the extreme spike indicator to save space...seems to work well so far. Steve {image}

Hi Barry - This is going very well. I do have some further considerations though which I will run past you. I am currently thinking about a tear away trend and about placing an auto hedge around maybe 7 ATR as for instance that is close to 300 pips on GBPNZD. Working out a good scheme for this would allow possibly increasing lot size but that is not my main concern.

Would you be able to link your $10 demo to FXBlue so that we can get some analysis of how things went over the previous 12 months or so or whatever period - if you do keep it running - even with a copier it allows us to watch ongoing performance with online analysis ability.

Regarding your stated lot sizes - essentially you suggested 0.01 / 2k which is fine for demo but can you clarify, do you mean 0.01 lots on each of the 28 pairs which would equate to some 1.69 lots if placing 6 x 0.01 on each - not that they can all be entered of course but I would just like to clarify your thinking.

Regards,
Michael.

what is the use of the tma 4.0 ?you just say the distance between 2.0 and 3.0 is used for orders, the 4.0 seems Inconsequential.

If price continues out to 4 then you have another order filled - if it then reverses and goes to the centre you have three orders closed in profit, if it continues out past 4 then you have DD and there are a few ways to handle that, including sitting on all until price reverses to the mid line

This is just to make it easier to judge the position of the next order if the market moves past your existing order. You can add 5, 6 and 7 if you want to, but it is usually enough at 4.

This is the stats until this morning of my experimental account. I implore every one to first practice on a demo. Forex is not for the faint hearted and is dangerous. But I suppose we all know that hey?
